Coronavirus - COVID-19

No, you can’t. If you contract the virus then yes. If you are vaccinated, the symptoms are nothing other than your own immune system making noises. You cannot “give” someone the virus if you have been vaccinated and if you do not have the virus itself. If you actually have the virus and have been recently vaccinated then you could pass the virus on yes. There is just no way to know.

You can use the same logic then with a computer virus and anti-virus software. So the question can be phrased: “Can you get Computer Virus XYZ by updating your virus definitions on Windows Defender to contain the signature of the virus?” The answer is no, you cannot get the virus by updating your virus definitions. It is in fact good practice to update your virus definitions.

Equate the COVID-19 vaccine to an updated virus definition for your own natural anti-virus software - it tells your body what the signature of the virus is and how to deal with it. It doesn’t actually give you the virus, it just prepares you for it when it strikes.

I like the way you put that!

Of course, you’ll get some people saying, “I installed System Mechanic but it made my PC run way worse! The vaccine is spyware!”

Ah - but the vaccine isn’t a new anti-virus software. It’s only an updated definition for your own software. If you happen to be issued with System Mechanic on your OEM OS install, then I’m sorry for your loss. Best is to seek professional advice in uninstalling your old software and get a better one installed, then you can use the latest definitions and sleep sound knowing you’ve got the latest AV protection.

Ah, but you’re using sound logic!

Perhaps my phrasing of the question was not very accurate. Thanks for the responses regardless.

Wife and I are going on Friday. I can go tomorrow already and she is only on Friday. So we decided to go together.

Concerning thing is that one of our executive team members tested positive on Monday for COVID. We spent 4 days with him last week at Spier. Everyone was quite jovial in the evenings and seldom wore masks… Proximity was quite close as well. Several people have reported feeling a little sick, mostly cold-like symptoms. We were 13 people there in total and at least 8 have reported some symptoms. I also felt a little sick for 2-3 days, but I put that down to my son picking up a cold (???) at preschool last week.

Thanksfully my second jab was none but smooth sailing (touch wood). My arms hurt a little the day after but that was it. Had a little bit of cold chills and mild headache, otherwise nothing too bad.

My wife has been struggling for a few days now since her first jab.

I know it’s not legit to ask, but out of curiosity, do you know if he has been partly/ fully vaccinated at all?

Same here. The terrible congestion and burning nose is pretty much gone today. I’m only going for my second jab tomorrow… So I suspect it’s pollen / allergy related in the area.

And great, someone in my son’s class has just reported a COVID infection in their family. Waiting to see if there will be any communication from the school.

Ok so I felt fine this morning, but as the day has gone on, I am sore and stiff all over, more so than my normal exercise routine would do. I am also a bit foggy and thick-headed. So off to bed with efferflu C - That is what my chemist recommended. That plus some panado

The efferflu helped, no more body aches just very tired still, no more foggy brain.
