Yeah, got myself some Efferflu as well. I haven’t many, if any, issues since my jab. Been a lot better experience than my first.
At least this morning I feel 80% human again.
Sore and stiff tho. With a lovely headache but the tiredness so far is gone and needs to stay gone since I will be working from 10 - 7pm
Ok I am not gonna lie, the second jab hit me harder than I thought. today is the first day I am not feeling like death warmed up.
I was just constantly tired, sore, foggy head, and a minor cough developed. I had a slight fever at night, woke up a fair few times too hot or too cold.
The worst was my nose, it felt like it was on fire, it was itchy and burning and in the end the only thing that helped was phenegan. No other antihistamine touched it. The weird thing was it wasn’t dry at all but it felt that way.
The good news is that this is your body’s autoimmune response you’re feeling - in other words, it’s building antibodies.
Agreed, Im honestly very very thankful for not having had the full blown virus as of yet, if that is how I felt after the second jab, this thing would have driven me nuts
Yeah, my wife struggled with her first jab. Symptoms like fever, stuffy nose, chills, shortness of breath, etc. I worry about her second appointment.
My second jab was hardly noticeable. Had a bit of a sore arm and mild fever and headache, two days later I was right as rain.
These are the exact same symptoms I got from the RSV I contracted from my son and I have yet to receive my second jab. My symptoms started around Thursday last week. I suspect there’s a case of RSV doing the rounds in Cape Town, so maybe it’s just coincidental that you got your second jab the same time the virus has been spreading like mad with the change of season?
What’s this RSV? I did a G.search but that’s a bit high level for me.
It’s a specific respiratory virus that is quite prevalent in pre-schools. Anyone can catch it and the symptoms are usually “cold-ish” or “flu-ish”. It does quite harshly affect individuals who are prone to respiratory problems, like asthma-sufferers. In the case of my son, he’s now had 2 bouts of RSV in 10 months and both times developed pneumonia which necessitated hospitalisation.
That could be it, I didnt even think of that.
Eish… does not sound pleasent at all. Thanks for providing a lamen clarrification
I did come across this too:
Ok so according to Beo’s chart, it could have been RSV, I had all those symptoms, still sneezing and bit of a slight cough now and then, the only thing I didnt get was the sore throat.
The protocol in the paediatrics ward at the hospital is apparently to test for both COVID-19 and RSV, seeing as their symptoms are almost identical in children. They tested my son for both, with RSV being positive and COVID-19 being negative. So that table seems quite accurate, as I had all the symptoms ticked in the RSV column, except sneezing and wheezing. I sneezed maybe once or twice a day, which I just attributed to allergies or pollen in the air.
I didn’t have much of a sore throat either, just slightly tender from the coughing. I didn’t even think anything of it, until the GP said on Saturday morning that the left side of my throat was quite red. Still, got some antibiotics to fight any other bugs I might’ve picked up due to the hospital visits, together with some Rinex and ACC-200. They seemed to have taken most of the symptoms away - still have a little latent cough, which I suspect will last the majority of the week.
I didnt bother going to the doctor, I just took efferflu C and Acc200 and last night a phenegan since it literally felt like my nose was on fire.
But looking at that chart, I definately had the RSV, must have gotten it on friday or sat when working. I suspect a co-workers 4 year old who gave me a very snotty hug on friday. Then the covid symptoms for me was just the exhaustion
Exactly why we didn’t bother to get tested as she had just been vacinated and the results would likely come back as being COVID positive as a result.
Regardless, she self medicated and isolated to a degree with plenty of rest and she is feeling much better today.
Soooo… what you are saying is I could have had a week off by getting COVID tested after my jabs? Bummer!
But, in seriousness, I was very fortunate. I had no ill-effects after both my jabs and I felt just fine. I had a headache 3 days later but that is a usual occurrence for me and cannot be attributed to the jab, I think.
Well, that is what we were advised when we consulted our health practitioner over the phone.
Same 'ere, headaches are just par for the course for me. Part of everyday life.

Anti-vaxxers are the reason that our economy is in the toilet, and that the hospitality and tourism industries specifically have been devastated. Our low vaccination rates are the direct and specific reason travel to and from South Africa is still hugely restricted, and travel related businesses are struggling to stay afloat.
Anti-vaxxers are the reason we are still in lockdown, and are still required to limit our movements, gatherings, and lifestyles. If more South Africans were vaccinated, more businesses would be able to return to normal trade, more people would have jobs, and more money would be flowing back into the economy.
Anti-vaxxers are the reason people can’t get hospital beds for emergency gall bladder surgeries, because their vaccine denying arses are filling the ICUs as they die from a virus they continue to deny is an issue, that they could have avoided contracting if they’d got vaccinated.
6.1 BILLION Covid vaccines have been administered globally over the last 9 months. Over 90% of new cases are from among the unvaccinated. How much more evidence does your conspiracy-addled brain need before you accept that you are the problem?
Seriously, stop being a selfish, short-sighted, inconsiderate fool. Your choice not to get vaccinated is going to come back to bite you soon. Remember how the world turned against smokers? Well that, only a thousand times worse. You aren’t going to be allowed anywhere, except to your own little circles of anti-vax hate mongering idiocy.
Get vaxxed, or get fucked.
