I had the exact same issue! I just gave up. Later when I found the same again I used a sniper rifle to take out the baddies so the cops didn’t even see me. When combat ended, the cops walked away and I could loot up.
Hacking so godlike, again, in a different way. They could have toned it down a bit.
Still busy doing the 2.0 update now and was thinking about adding the Phantom Liberty expansion. To add Phantom Liberty to my GOG install will now cost me $30 or about R570-odd as opposed to the R399 on Steam/Epic. I think I’ll hang on for a bit until I get through the main game first before doing it. Maybe by then it’s got a bit of a price reduction.
I finished the main mission that’s required to start Phantom Liberty so I’m good to go. I got a super nasty annoying bug during the mission though. The phone starting ringing and V answered it and then the phone dialogue played over the regular dialogue, to make matters worse after the conversation the phone kept ringing throughout the entire mission, even during cutscenes and gunfights. Once the mission was over it stopped though, thankfully.
They’re calling to speak about your extended warranty
Only downside of PL is that I wont be able to play PL or the base game until the DL is finished 3 days later
Yes, Phantom Liberty and patch 2.0 really are Cyberpunk 2077’s ‘last big updates’ and it’s finally time to start the sequel, director confirms.
I double-dipped and got the expansion on PS5 as well. I’m a sucker for for buying CDPR games multiple times, what can I say?
It is a little sad that hacking completely breaks the game. So much so that the only challenge comes from scripted scenes in the expansion that completely negates all your abilities.
I mean I kill a boss with one hit of over 400k damage and didn’t shoot a shot. It is crazy.
Power gaming is fun but being a god among mortals is not.
What difficulty are you playing on? Apparently very hard is really challenging, but I’m not sure if/how that affects the hacking.
I’m playing on the easiest difficulty and I absolutely LOVE killing everyone without firing a single shot. I don’t use hacking though, doing a full melee build. I deflect bullets, dash to enemies and finish them off. Will do a hacking build next and you’re honestly making me want to get to it sooner rather than later.
Different strokes for different folks but I really love feeling OP in games. If I want a challenge I’ll just fire up Elden Ring/Lies of P/Bloodborne etc. Everything else I want a power trip of epic proportions.
I am playing on hard. I am with you on that, I play games to relax, not to be stressed, hence me not playing Souls etc ;-P. I like powerplay but it gets a bit much when you feel you need to just get through the story to finish it since there is very little variation left in combat.
I even just ditch my hacking many times to unload my pistol in combat for kicks. Even that is very easy with smart weapons, since it is linked to the hacking stat: Intelligence.
That just sounds like a good time to me.
Just finished the game, and damn, what a ride.
Wait until you play and finish Phantom Liberty, which I’ve just done. I have to give it my second 10/10 for this year.
I agree, the DLC story was phenomenal.
