Another game (after Lego Brawls) that I’ve seen recently that has completely different pricing on each of the platforms. I’m guessing that it’s happening because of different applications of Regional Pricing? At a standard list price of US$39.99 for Dakar Desert Rally, we could be paying upwards of R700 for this title on Steam. That Saber have listed it at just R219 is testament to them actually using Valve’s Recommend Pricing for South Africa. As the ever useful folk over at Steam DB show, Dakar Desert Rally is charging the recommended price for their game in all regions that it’s being sold. (Another first for me.)
Looks to be more attention to the vehicle than the environment, I remain intrigued but sceptical. Wouldn’t be something I get on release, will wait for reviews and gameplay impressions.
Two amazing Saber Interactive games are coming together for one high-octane off-roading experience. Dakar Desert Rally, the biggest open-world racing game based on the largest rally race on the planet, is introducing a new fleet of vehicles and challenges inspired by the blockbuster off-road game, SnowRunner. The “SnowRunner Trucks” DLC is free to download today on all platforms for owners of the Dakar Desert Rally Season Pass. It is also available to purchase standalone for $9.99.
Get behind the wheel of five of SnowRunner’s most massively mighty trucks, capable of taking on any challenge: the TUZ 16, TUZ 108, TUZ 420, ZiKZ 605R, and YAR 87. Overcome extreme open-world environments in either Free Roam mode or Rally Raid competition. Put your skills to the test against the elements with three new stages and one new event exclusive to the “SnowRunner Trucks” DLC.
Today also marks the release of Patch 1.7 for Dakar Desert Rally, rolling out a number of general game fixes, improvements, and simulation tools like the new steering wheel wizard.
So I tried to play this on EPIC, and yeah, at least on keyboard it is not very good, all vehicles are basically uncontrollable, feels like I am racing on literal ice, I just keep sliding every-which-way. I then tried to check if it was just me having a skill issue, but it turns out the devs fixed the issue in patch 1.3, and broke it again in patch 1.4, and now after the latest patch they aren’t updating it anymore, and it is basically abandoned by them now. Makes sense I guess since they are busy with the new mudrunner game, but yeah, gonna have to give this game a skip, I even gave it good chance by restarting the intro after 2 game crashes as well.
