Darkest Dungeon

Darkest Dungeon is available on both PC and Switch and I think a couple of us have played it by now.

In a way it’s unique in that things will go wrong. It’s just part of the game. At first I restarted a couple of times until I realised there’s no point in restarting. Then eventually things started going well. But I was surprised when I saw at How Long To Beat just how long this game is. It will take forever to complete so I have stopped.

What do you guys think about it?

Have been playing it on and off for a while now and its fun but modded it a bit.
Once had the game go non stop damage on my healer and there was nothing I could do was not fun after that fight I modded the game.

Also speed is a lie!

Its one of those games that the difficulty got to me a bit, and I am of the belief that you have to be in the right frame of mind to play certain games, I just havent had the concentration yet.

Its good but I personally got used to the novelty and mechanics pretty fast and then got distracted by other titles, still great game.

I loved the look and feel so much, that I bought it on Steam, PS and Switch. I even briefly considered buying it on XBONE, but thankfully came to my senses.

Ironically, despite have spent many hours on the game across multiple platforms, I have never really progressed beyond the opening few levels :frowning:

As much as I love the game, my usual cycle is to begin a fresh new game, full of optimism and hope. But after a few hours of RNGesus beating me down, I rage quit and vow never to play this cheating game again. But inevitably, i get lured back in and the viscous cycle repeats itself.

This is how its meant to be played. at least that is what i tell myself every time i restart.

I’m currently in the cycle of being tempted to dive back on. But I’ve now got the very same situation with ONI. If I can interweave these two games, I could actually be in a good space. Play the one, while I’m raging at the other.

Ha ha. I rage quit darkest dungeon and went on to ONI, then rage quit that and then I was just sitting there, mad at both.

Its like FTL? Totally random situations that screw you over?

Nope its the game actively trying to screw you over.

You have 75% something bad will happen and 25% something good will happen.
Modded this to be 50%, 50% rather.

I actually think i need to play this on PC and apply some mods to make it more feasible to get progress.
