Death’s Door: Aftermath is a roguelike adventure inspired by classic RPGs, with one big twist: the whole community plays together via a live stream. Your vote helps guide the Revenant through a post-apocalyptic wasteland dotted with interesting encounters and tough enemies. Can you survive and defeat the ancient evil that destroyed the world?
This pioneering social game offers RPG gamers, Dungeons & Dragons fans, and those looking to play or chat with friends a unique interactive experience. Join the Death’s Door: Aftermath community on Mixer starting today from 10 am - 10 pm Pacific on https://mixer.com/deathsdoorgame. Streaming Tuesday through Sunday during those hours, the game will continually evolve with each community vote and new content updates.
“We’re excited to greet the Death’s Door: Aftermath gamers on Mixer today who will determine how this new episodic experience will evolve,” said Mark Cooke, Shiny Shoe CEO. “Part choose your own RPG adventure and community gathering place, the dynamic Dungeon Master events are sure to shake up the gameplay in fun and sometimes controversial ways.”
Set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, Death’s Door: Aftermath is the only live-streaming community-activated game of its kind where through a timed voting mechanic, players determine the path forward across the newly designed branching map. Each vote by the community such as: “flee or fight,” guides the Revenant through the adventure clouded by ancient evil from The Faceless One. Unexpected gameplay twists, snarky responses directed to players and more will happen when the live Dungeon Master (designated player/moderator) enters the stream. Mixer channel subscribers will benefit from special subscriber-only voting periods, custom emotes, and access to a subscriber-only Discord channel to chat with the development team directly.
“Shiny Shoe continues to pioneer interactive streaming on Mixer, leveraging some of the latest and greatest MixPlay features,” said Ben Favreau, Mixer product marketing manager. “We’re looking forward to Death’s Door: Aftermath, building off of the success of the first Death’s Door chapter, which surpassed over 1 million viewers on Mixer last year.”
Interesting to see if and how it works. 10AM - 10PM PDT is 7PM - 7AM here in SA (so might be something for the night shifters and insomniacs to play around with.)
