You turn away for a second and when you turn back you discover Christmas is just 99 days away.

Like, how?!

Fewer days until Christmas than we have had of load shedding this year!

“Appeals to the public to conserve electricity”. What a joke. Can’t conserve something we don’t have.

We’re conserving through the process of loadshedding. I dunno about you but I switch everything off during a loadshedding session.

The 2 hour period we dont even bother with the genny, we have a gas stove, but the 4.5 hour one later today I might just put the genny on for some internet

And during the day we barely use anything, we use the gas stove to boil the kettle for water, we have one hot meal a day mostly cooked on the gas stove (last night we just heated wraps and filled it with tuna salad)
The geyser is on once 1 hour per day as well…Barely using even my pc. Just charging power banks and so forth.
We turn the main DB board off during loadshitting

Yeah, last night was rough and actually fell asleep on the couch waiting for it to come back. The 4 hour stints are tough at night.

Im just tired because we need to replace our alarm battery again, 3rd time in less than a year and a half. . . .No idea what to get that will survive this, and keep the alarm from beeping in my ears at all the kak hours in the morning

That’s rough man - only 3 hours of daytime electricity! 5 hour stints at a time - we have a nice 4.5 hour blackout at 16:00 today. We’re in the same zone as @Wyvern.

Edit: read wrong. 5 hour stints are rough.

Help! I love bread, and I think it’s one of the biggest factors I need (want) to change. What bread is a healthier option that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, considering we consume quite a bit of it?

Higher fibre, lower sugar. That is my measuring method for which bread I buy. Also, consider replacing bread for breakfast with jungle oats. Much higher in fibre, 0 sugar (unless you add some) and great long term energy release.

Also, consider adding egg with your bread. Once slice of bread surrounded by egg (french toast) is a MUCH higher source of sustained energy than 2 slices of bread, by far.

Thanks for that, that’s very helpful information.

Good morning citizens of Electroland.

Is this our new normal?

Urgh… Monday and feeling like shite. Working from home it’s easier to just not work than to “call in sick” and have to provide a doctors note.
