Don’t Assume My Topic Thread

At 08:34 Stage 6 loadshedding was implemented. This was necessary due to the failure of 8 generating units overnight and the excessive reliance on OCGTs and pumped storage generation that is rapidly depleting these reserves.

8 units failing overnight? Seriously. How completely fucked is this “organization”?

I wonder where the blame for this continuing shitshow will be shifted to now that De Ruyter is gone going? He only leaves next year, but I guarantee he’ll be the one carrying the blame for generations :slightly_smiling_face: to come.

We pulling Apartheid back to the front of the blame queue? Will that old standby scapegoat Jan van Riebeek return? Or do we fall back on the “De Ruyter sabotaged everything while he was here and then left everything in a mess before he resigned”?

Ol’ Matshela Koko, a man arrested for corruption while at Eskom, is taking shots at De Ruyter blaming him for the state that Eskom is in. Nevermind the fact that it’s crooks like Koko himself are the cause, it’s only now that we’re seeing the true dire consequences of their incompetence and greed. These guys have no shame.

Slow start to the day for me, no getup and go at all

Afternoon everyone.

Shocker of an announcement, but I guess we shouldn’t be surprised.

I think next year could be even worse. Especially when De Ruyter leaves and they try prove that he was the cause of the loadshedding by not loadshedding. I can picture a scenario like that.

I feel broken. The amount of monies I have paid out over the past few days is just depressing.

Ah man, I can empathise. The last few days have been a similar experience. Had to get my car’s gearbox reconditioned and in the end the mechanic had to replace it completely. That along with a few other issues. At least I have a car again.

Morning everyone. These four hour stages are no joke and our buildings lifts keep breaking now.

Yeah just getting the car prepped for travel and having things like Aircon, tires, alignment, CV joints, etc. It’s just a never ending nightmare.

BUT, my car is running nicely again.

Damn, anyone got some home remedy tips for gastro? I don’t wanna be like this when on a long road.

Unfortunately not much you can do from home, to avoid running to the loo you will need something to stop the tummy. Drink lots of water. No dairy no coffee etc. I find rooibos honey and lemon helps soothe. Or peppermint tea for the cramps.

But no heavy foods marmite toast kinda vibe

that was me this entire year, car is still having problems, thinking of going to another mechanic. Luckily car was good enough to go all the way to rAge this year, which was the plan, was also very lucky to have cloudy and rainy weather making the trip to and from the Northern Cape, considering the repair cost on my Aircon will be around R6k I had to make the trip without it, as that is an expense for next year.

Its weird isn’t it. I get a bonus and suddenly the garage door breaks, the car bumper falls off, my PSU dies (luckily everything else on my PC survived) and suddenly, within 2 days of getting my performance driven bonus, BAM, half of it is already gone on various repairs.

Strange time of year…

We should start a club. It’s a blessing to get that bonus so that it can cover all those unexpected costs. It would be nice though if, even for a brief moment you could dream of nice things before the reality hits home and all the bills come rushing in

KANTREXIL
Bro don’t even mess around. Go to a pharmacy or doc and ask for Kantrexil. I don’t travel anywhere without a stash. It stops a runny tummy like a solid brick wall. Magical and invaluable for travelling. Kills the tummy bug. Saved me in Nigeria and Ethiopia a few years ago.

Edited to add: big pharma chains like Dischem are likely to be finicky about needing a script for the Kantrexil. Smaller mom&pop type places will be more flexible, willing to give you 5-6 tablets for “emergency” purposes. Especially if the pharmacist knows you. My dad’s pharmacist knows that we travel a lot so he gives a whole bottle without issue, because he knows they will use it responsibly.
