Don’t Assume My Topic Thread

All is okay so far apart from running on fumes. My wife was admitted yesterday and is in a ward now so we were able to visit her yesterday. Basically, she has two abscesses in her left breast that were causing all sorts of pain and inflammation. She is scheduled for theatre today to have them cut, removed, or drained.

Praying all goes well in the op and she finds relief from the pain :pray:t3:

Morning all.

I swear if one more person asks me, “Hot enough for you?”, I’m going to wipe the sweat off my brow, flick it into their face, and ask them, “What do you think?”.

Hope all goes well for her. Sending you guys all the positivity and good vibes I can.

That’s not what a fibre line should look like right? Attack of the line trimmer.

Good day all.

I have a curious question: I have regular check-ins or 1:1 meetings with individuals who are part of my team. In one of our sessions, the individual reported many concerns about their title, role, remuneration, process, etc. She is so worried about any backlash and getting anyone in trouble, or simply causing friction amongst the team.

How do I go about escalating this as much of this is out of my hands, while at the same time, it is imperative to create awareness of this? This is a big concern for me that someone in my team is feeling so conflicted.

I would arrange a meet between your supervisor, this team member and you. That way you can escalate it to someone who might be able do something about it and mediate at the same time.

Agreed with @Shrike. If it was only one of the things, I’d pop an email to my manager explaining, and then provide feedback to the team member with the action they (the manager) will take and what action is expected from the team member. With all the things? That warrants a meeting with a thorough unpacking of the team member’s position, you’re expectations from them, as well as their expectations from you and you manager.
Counter curious question: How often do you have these? At my company we do the big, serious, documented one twice a year, with more informal check ins at the manager’s descretion.
