Tiny bit more space in terms of living space. The living space also feels more house-like and flows a bit better. Lovely finishing and community spaces, we hardly even saw the kids yesterday which was a breath of fresh air for the wife and I to focus on getting shit done inside. The kids instead came home dirty and sun burnt.

Good morning!

:grinning::wave:t2:

Remember, remember the 5th of November… and the fact that Guy Fawkes fireworks are not a thing here, but there’s always that one fool… keep an eye on your fur babies.

Oh, and good luck USA! :us: :ballot_box: Hope it works out for y’all.

Greetings from the internetless home. I don’t know how I’m going to work from home.

Any indication of how long you’re going to be waiting?

Frogfoot are saying it will be effected at the end of November, which makes me think the previous tenants didn’t provide a month’s notice for their cancellation.

Trying to expedite it, but sadly I am at their whim.

Maybe a portable LTE router and a pay-as-you-go data sim as a stop-gap solution for the rest of the month then?

Yeah, having to do that. Sadly work and Teams meetings are chowing through my data. Just using my phone as a hotspot.

Good morning. Let’s unilaterally declare it a 4 day week, and have a braai this afternoon before the weekend starts. Who’s with me?!

I’d love to, but have a truck load of things to sort out today before the weekend. We have our son’s Grade R “graduation ceremony” tonight at 19:00 and have to pick up an old friend at the airport tomorrow and have lunch for her birthday, before dropping her off at her hotel for her stay in Cape Town. Then I need to come home and pack, as I’m leaving for Web Summit in Lisbon on Saturday morning, only coming back on the 17th.

…and we’re moving to our newly built house on the 21st. So lots of remote assistance in the move while my wife manages the bulk of it while I’m away.

Oh, and I’m busy with a go-live on our highest profile project currently, with loads of red tape being crossed and stacks of paper being signed off. The work is still in traditional agile flux, as many systems that we depend on for our work are still being finalised. I’m going to have limited connectivity next week and have to support my team on the ground while manning 2 exhibition stalls at Web Summit.

So uber stressful time currently. I’ve been sleeping terribly because of it and get up every second night around 01:00, giving all these problems more occupancy in my mind than I should.

Okay, so my end-of-year workload stress is minor compared to yours. Good luck and all power to you! I have no doubt you’ll crush all of it and come out tops. A little greyer maybe, but strong! :muscle:t2:

Smort.

Must say, we’re also feeling the end of year stress. My whole team is running around, barely have time to breath. The madness is setting in, and we are in dire need of the end of year break.

Jokes aside, @FarligOpptreden, hope the move and all the work stuff goes well. Moving is incredibly stressful in the calmest of times, so I really don’t envy you!

Yeah, I just moved, too, and can attest to this. By the way, there are still no internet connections, and I went through more than 10GB of data in two days.

Oh ja, and being admitted into Netcare tomorrow for a procedure. Hope all goes well. Believe it or not, this is my first hospital admittance and first time going under anaesthetic.

It’ll be fine, don’t stress about it. You’ll be in and out in no time.

We are having our hackathon from yesterday noon until noon today. I was at the office setting up after scrambling to get the last things and balloons for the decorations. With 1 person helping to unload my car (we stole a checkers trolley to get everything into the office and the guys didn’t even want the energy drinks - about 10 out of 60 was used)… I setup everything and have a pain in the ass moaning at me about every little thing. I left at 8:30ish and went to bed early back here at 7am and already stabby . . . .

About 6 guys spent the night working and really proud of them for cleaning up and keeping things tidy!

Get here early to give them breakfast and now they are not even eating…

Ima gonna stab someone soon.
