Don’t Assume My Topic Thread

Gald to hear your Pops is getting the care he needs. And again, better sooner than later. Dr. Google tells me that over 500 000 CABGs are performed annually with a greater than 98% success rate. He’s in the best place he can be at the moment, and already getting better just by being there.

As for your asshole of a client… just proves again that money can’t buy class. If you can extract yourselves from the job without too much damage to your business financially or reputationally, sure. But I fear he’s the sort of chop that’ll go out of their way to be vindictive and petty after the fact. Might need to be a bite the bullet, get it done, and get the heck out situation. But make it clear that one late payment slip up, a pointless delay that costs you business somewhere else, a change of the agreed plan, and the contract needs to be renegotiated or cancelled.

I believe my uncle has had 3 bypass surgeries, if that puts you at ease, at all. Not sure if it’s exactly the same as what you mention though.

@oltman In stressful times, being pragmatic is one good path to take, w.r.t. the client. If you’re pragmatic, you’re more likely not choosing as an emotional response. Good luck

I dislike mid-year assessment season significantly more than my students.
And they think it sucks a lot. #justsaying

I did the same search. Told him that he is safer here than if he got COVID.

Also, great point about the client. Very wise words!

@aldyr he has a friend who has had 3 CABGs already (it is the fancy name for a bypass) and they are of a similar age. His friend had his first one at 40!

Turns out pops is more scared of the recovery than the actual op.

Yes, recovery is no joke. It is hard work, for sure. Minimum 6 weeks. Asking and accepting help as well as sticking to the physio guidelines they give you when you leave, instrumental in making recovery work. This is the kind of recovery that if you do it wrong, it takes longer.

Praying for your dad @oltman

I can second this, the recovery is scary and hard, but well worth it. Just tell him to bite the bullet, do the work they tell him and he will be up and feeling better sooner than later.

Life’s too short for kak clients. Burn that bridge as quickly and safely as possible.

Thinking of you and your old man! (Old-Oltman? Oldtman!)

Hey @oltman , may everything go well with your dad! My dad also went through the whole heart thing after he had a heart attack during the surgery when they were removing his cancer. But he is fine now.

As for your client. I wonder how he made all his money. I look at all these rich folk and how they don’t look after their workers. I sometimes wonder if they got so rich because they don’t care about other people. I hope you can walk away from the contract because that guy is an asshole.

Yeah @oltman, keeping your ballie in prayer and that everything goes well.

@oltman you and your family are in our thoughts.

Well done on that restraint. Biting back would have just made things worse. Don’t stoop to his level.

Good Morning everyone.

Someone at City of Cape Town has been playing too much Cities:Skylines I think.

There’s one already near Cape Town stadium. The difference is, it has foot traffic below, and vehicle traffic above. So, that will be the 2nd  I bet skelms in Hanover Park will ruin that timeline.

Doing interviews for a position in my QA team, never done them before. It is pretty interesting and stressful. Luckily our HR lady does them with me and she is strict and really clued up and teaching newbie me the ropes.

Morning people of the palace

At least woke up this morning feeling less sick. Does that count?

Thats good. I just recently stopped having headaches and being tired.

The headaches come and go, but at least the cement block is finally gone.I’ve been taking all kinds of vitamins and so on to boost my immunity since I suspect this was more triggered by stress than anything else.

I was gifted a R1000 Asus voucher for ASUS Shop . However it can only be used for laptops or full systems. Not accessories. Anyone interested? I’m not going to use it.
