You were in a 4 year coma, locked up for 4 years or kidnapped and held ransom for 4 years ?

Great, made a doctor’s appointment for the little tyke, he’s not doing well but it’s the best thing we can do even if we can’t afford it.

Great, so the doc found a bad mid-ear infection though he says it’s nice to see bacterial infections are back and not seeing as many viral infections. Apart from the usual Ibuprofen and Paracetamol he also prescribed some anti-biotics which we need to find a way to get. lol

It smells really bad in Joburg today. Apparently it’s going to be like this until Saturday. Really messing with my sinuses.

Good luck with Unisa @czc !

The stories I am hearing from people in our neighbourhood who has tried to change from ADT to another security firm is scary!

Close!

So I was driving home from the farm when suddenly I see this bright light in the sky. I immediately knew it wasn’t Eskom because it was bright and working. Suddenly the radio changed to an unknown station that was having a Kurt Darren marathon. At this point I knew I was in trouble.
I floored the accelerator and tried to outrun the light, but it was too fast and moving through the sky to the rhythm of “Meisie Meisie”.
I decided to change my tactics. I hit the brakes and the radio’s off switch at the same time. The bakkie stopped but the radio kept on playing.
I got out of the vehicle and started to run into a field, not caring about direction. The light followed blasting “Kaptein, span die seile”. Next thing I knew, a small grey being stood in front of me.
I may or may not have cried a little in my pants at this point.
It held out its hand in a non-threatening fashion. Not knowing what else to do, I took it and suddenly we were sokkie-ing to the tune of “Loslappie”. We danced for about 3 or 4 songs right there in the mielieland with the light above us keeping time: strobing and changing colour in unison with the music. At the end of “Af en af”, the little grey being stood on tippy toes and planted a kiss on my cheek. It then disappeared, followed by the light.
Slightly shook up and humming “Hemel op Tafelberg” I returned to the bakkie trying to ignore the stabbing pain in my butt. But it was gone! (The bakkie, not my butt). I had no choice but to walk back to town, contemplating the strange turn of events along the way.
When I finally arrived home, my wife nearly had a heart attack when she opened the door. And there was a strange man sitting in my favourite chair, drinking a beer. After a while I recognised him as the local butcher.
Anyway, long story short, turns out I was missing for almost 4 years. They found the bakkie abandoned the night after I disappeared, but there was no trace of myself. My wife gave up on me returning after a year, had me declared legally dead and hooked up with the butcher soon afterwards.
My only explanation is that the grey creature must have been an alien being of some sort and the passage of time was equivalent to the relative time one experiences when listening to an actual Kurt Darren song and you’re unable to change the station or skip to the next track: 1 song equals 1 year in human terms. But now I’m back, ready to take back my old life as soon as I manage to kick the butcher out of my chair.
Or:
My work situation changed quickly and drastically and I was in a situation where I just didn’t have the time and energy to participate in any meaningful way here, up to a point where I just kinda forgot about the forum. Until yesterday when I stumbled onto MEW again.

Pick whichever version of events you prefer.

Im still looking for work, dealing with the repercussions of dads accident in Feb. He got in an accident at killarney whilst racing, and suffered a lot of broken bones, and suffered a traumatic brain injury. Currently he is in a step down facility and recovering slowly. He suffers from short term memory loss. And doesn’t know he is injured and is suffering from a variety of issues due to the frontal lobe damage.

Otherwise I am doing ok.

OMG, that’s not good. Good luck to your dad and to yourself. Holding thumbs for a full recovery. Hope you find some decent employment as well, Lady.

Has to be the first surely? The second sounds completely fake - “forgot about the forum”?! I mean, who is ever going to believe that kak story?

Yeah I know, right? Was thinking I may be pushing the boundaries of believability as I typed it.

Oh yay 2 massive fires in the Cape, the one in tableview is under control, they are letting it burn so that the reeds in the vlei can be thinned out to prevent another fire like the one today.

And there is another one near Lourensford, in the Helderberg Nature reserve.

Between the two fires we have ash all over the yard, outside it looks like its misty but its just the smoke. We closed all doors and windows hours ago and the house still smells like it was in the fire. And both are a fair bit away.
