I can remember my brother and I discussing possibilities for StarCraft 2 way back when. We had both played StarCraft at this point and obviously loved it. The discussion was somewhere around 2000, so we were still in Primary School as far as I can remember (or I was atleast).
We had this vivid idea that the game would incorporate the hybrid unit system from Warzone 2100, where you could put different parts on different unit templates. Elements of Total Annihilation would also be incorporated, like the turn radius and bullet travel time.
I can’t remember all the details but we had this elaborate plan for the game (yes, in hindsight it was silly but back then it was amazing!).
Did you guys ever have a dream game that you wanted, or a combination of games/hybrid game?

Not only have I done this exact thing, I have literally made an entire production company in my mind.
The company is called Howl Production, and they have released, in my mind at least, the following games:
-
007: The Man Of Many Secrets
An FPS game using the James Bond license, story-driven game spanning the world with unique environmental gameplay mechanics, as well as extensive use of tools and gadgets.
-
Terraformers
An RTS game spanning multiple planets, with a deep base building and management system akin to something like Pharaoh, with 4 different races to choose from
-
Dreamscape
A Third person action adventure game in the mind of a person in a coma that needs to solve ever evolving puzzles as he tries to escape the clutches of his coma
-
Soldier
An FPS war game set in modern times, with missions that does not end when you do not meet the objective, but just continues with the consequences of the loss, with multiple endings, and set specialization for every character that will change the gameplay, like playing as a sniper versus a grunt.
-
The West
An MMO style game set in the wild west of America, where you and your friends play to conquer the western front, settling in areas, exploring a vast open world, hunting and gathering resources, fending off wild animals and natives
-
Miami Vice: Tales of the Drug Lord
An RPG style open world game set in 80’s Miami, you play a detective that needs to bring down a big drug ring, incorporating investigative and environmental gameplay. This game was released in seasonal form, where a new open world and a continuation of the story would be added to each chapter. There are 4 chapters.
So yeah…I’m a bit weird like that.
