Square Enix and Sony are developing a live-action Final Fantasy TV series with Hivemind, the production company behind The Expanse and Netflix's The Witcher. The live-action TV series will center on an original story set in the world of Eorzea, first introduced in the online game Final Fantasy XIV. It will delve into "the struggle between magic and technology in a quest to bring peace to a land in conflict."
Really interesting to see video entertainment producers looking to the media I consumed as a teenager and young adult for their next hits — A Song of Ice and Fire, The Wheel of Time, and now, story-rich video games.
(They’ve already tried teen-friendly shows of the Sword of Truth and Shannara novels. The first season of Shannara Chronicles was OK, but the Sword of Truth show was pretty bland.)
Wonder what it would take to work as a consultant or writer or something on one of these projects? I feel like we’d all be perfect for a job like that
