So I was watching a stream of Fortnite BR and it seems… good… or okayish. Not really sure how to feel about it. Since they have copied so much of PUBG I was reluctant to give it a try or even a glance. But it has been tempting me. I have downloaded and installed it. Who here plays it and has any opinion on it? Positives and negatives. Want to know if it will be a waste of my time.
I’ve honestly never been interested in the whole Battle Royal game style, which is why I never touched PUBG. But I’ll be honest, Fortnite looks cool. Just the fact that you have the crafting ability, and overall the game just looks so much more polished.
Also, correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t the game F2P as well?
yup, BR is F2P. Ironically though, its the building mechanics that put me on. The last thing I want to have to do in an intense firefight, is try and build a damned house. I can barely get the shooting right!
Just the BR part yes. After seeing that they will never be able to stand up to PUBG.
I LOVE the whole BR LOVE the whole BR style game and game play. The likelihood of you playing a match that will be similar to a match that you have played is very slim. So each match is unique.
I do agree to some extent. But with this it is not like your main objective is to build a base and defend. You just use walls as cover, and stairs to navigate easier and quicker. So if used properly it seems to be an insane amount of fun. But I have always been a fan of more hardcore military style shooters. Which is probably why PUBG grabbed my attention much more
I downloaded it before I got PUBG. It was fun. There were a few things that I didn’t like. But most of it is because I played PUBG afterwards. First off, no inventory. So it makes it difficult to manage what you want to pick up and what you don’t want to pick up. The other thing is the map being so small. Being new to the whole battle royale thing, I like to jump to a place where the chances of running into someone straight off the bat is slim. In Fortnite you almost always end up with someone close to you. But if you keep in mind that it is F2P, it is not bad at all.
Going to give it a try this week and check it out. Not with very high expectations though
Play it on occasion. its decent, the base building thing is sort of end-game and usually optional. as long as you know how to quickly throw up a wall when you take fire from somewhere unknown, then you’re good to go. I myself don’t care much for the base building as I play with mates who do it, so i’m the dedicated aggressor and they do the whole “create a tower and play off of that”.I gotta say finding matches is surprisingly quick, and yea the thing is F2P and their PVE setup will be F2P in january of next year too…that also looks like quite a lot of fun.
