My current status and I have loadshedding in 10 minutes… I really hope it doesn’t conk my download. I will pause and shut down my PC at 4pm(I have an inverter but it’s weak these days, probably from all the damn loadshedding)… here’s hoping

haha… but on a serious note, I have found one thing that is REALLY annoying me. The fact that majority of cars seem to be the same as your current selection. I get that the AI (or Drivatars) should be on equal car performance index, that does not mean they should be the same cars.
Am I the only one that gets this, surely not?

Will check once loadshedding ends, but that kinda happened in fh4 as well, i kinda just blocked it out after a while, mentally.

I managed to fix the problem!
It does require this registry hack
But you just simply download the file and add it to your registry.
Then you need to find the Windows Apps folder - it’s hidden so you need to show hidden files. It could be directly on the drive (e.g. C:\WindowsApps) but mine was in Program Files
You right click on the folder and select the take ownership option, let it run and once it’s done you’ll be able to access the MSIXVC folder. Inside there sort the files according to size. The FH5 file is 101GB. Delete that and you’ll get back your space.
And then… you can start the download…

EDIT: And then find out that the WindowsApps folder is now broken so you can’t download the game…

So far it’s the only way I know to reclaim the space on the hard drive so there is that. But ya, it doesn’t come without cost it seems. Gonna try a reset and see if that fixes things.
Found it… installing fromt he windows store resumes the download.

I think I found a bug, if you upgrade your car right as the race starts you have a HUGE advantage over the AI.

What am I missing? I don’t see any drivatars from my friends list. Steam version.
I think the rest of us are all playing on Game Pass/XBox/PC XBox. Don’t know if it makes a difference.

I must say that it’s so stupid that something like this can happen.

Unfortunately that didn’t work for me but I did managed to delete the file.
It seems that the broken download is what broke the Xbox App. Even trying to download to another hard drive kept failing until it finally didn’t. Of course then load shedding meant I had to pause the download and even though I paused and exited the app it’s done the same thing again.
Guess I’m going to have to wait until all the load shedding is done, or at least find a long enough gap when it drops to stage 2 to do the download in one go.
I love Game Pass but hate the client. It’s okay when it all works but an utter nightmare when it doesn’t.
That’s really shocking that the app is so bad. And that you will have to wait to download the game. I mean, how can they get it right on the XBox but not on Windows?
