Forza Horizon

I finally got some good time with the game yesterday and I’m enjoying it a lot. Yesterday I didn’t have any disconnects and everything worked perfectly. Even did the battle royale thing.

Enjoying the game a lot more than 4. It’s just so relaxing and there’s so much to do.

I had a race against AI Soli last night, in a Megane. I wonder if the game tries to pick cars you own for your AI counterpart in races…

I also did another round of the Eliminator, but had a hard time finding opponents. When I finally did track one down, I couldn’t challenge them… I found another opponent, challenged 'em, he drove off in the wrong direction so I won the sprint by a country mile, and then I got eliminated because of that… The mode is fun, but I’m clearly missing something!

That can’t have been coincidence. Did the Megane look like this by any chance?

There’s 3 cars that I spent the most time with since I started playing and this Megane is one of them.

I have a picture of me in France standing next to a Megane Trophy R that looks exactly like this livery. Was very happy when I found it.

I think it was a base colour one, but I did not spend a lot of time looking at, since it was in my rear view mirrooooooooooooor

eish no way to mute other people when racing with randoms, I was lucky that the randoms I raced with didn’t speak, but my brother was with someone who was watching something in the background and he could hear everything, that needs to be addressed ASAP

Normally I would not care since I tend not race with randoms, but since I need to race against them for the forza playlist, not being able to mute other people is the worst.

Not even sure what the playlist is, and I normally just play in solo mode. Come to think about it, even when “online” I don’t play with others and as far as I can tell, they’re still just Driveatars.

Yeah I had this same experience.

Most of the things I did on Saturday was because of the Forza playlist thing. Got the DeLorean DMC-12 as reward. Which is also why I touched some of the multiplayer stuff that I normally wouldn’t touch.

Ya with the random guy talking to someone in private but also in the open lobby, that was annoying. I think you can mute them if you go to friends/online menu (I forget what it’s called), it shows you a list of people in your session and who is mic’d up or muted.

During my week off with my broken hand I got more than my monies worth, 60+ hours, 300k accolades, most of the story done. A lot of that time was spent modifying, tuning and generally messing around, as I assume you do in a horizon game.

As a bonus I’ve learned to play racing games with 1.5 hands as well

hahahah that guy had a blady full on conversation with his friend.
But I was referring to Beo’s drift event that he entered with the timelimit and the combined score you get. but somehow you still lose the event at the end with no results of how you did compared to others. Not to mention the fact that you never see anyone the whole time.

Oh right, I’ve had that a few times as well where it feels like a desync. It happens more often during peak server time. I’ve played at all times of the day and I only get server issues from around late afternoon to midnight.

I did that arcade drift thing as well. I was solo for most it, but 1 to 2 players would join in for a bit and then leave. After about 10mins of drifting, the circle moved and I failed it. Maybe I had to fill the drift score bar or something.

The same thing happened to me. I was really unsure what the fail state was. Perhaps due to not filling the drift bar, which might be easier in a group or convoy.

That aside, the circle is far too small for having a drift “event” where you need stretches of road to link drift chains together. The one time I tried that drift arcade I kept going up and down the same stretch of road for the duration of the event, which got stale very quickly.

Well, I managed to get in some time on this game during the past week, and man, what an astonishing game it is. This is far better than FH4 was, and I think it’s down to the map design. The map just feels so varied, open and fun to drive around on.

I’ve not really had time to focus on any of the daily and weekly tasks, so I know I have no hope of unlocking any of the cool cars. I have been driving around trying to discover all the roads first. Since they added this feature to FH, I’ve always done that task first, getting all the roads discovered first, then doing other things in the game. Don’t know why I do that, but that’s just what I do.

I’m doing it the other way around, first focussing on get the sweet, sweet DeLorean, and leaving the roads for later. Is there an easy way to see which roads you haven’t driven yet?

Check on the mini map as well as the full map. Roads you’ve driven all are coloured (white for tar roads, orange or dirt roads). Road you have not driven are all marked in grey on the map. That way you can track which roads you’ve been on or not.

I think the Arcade thing is a complete fail from their end. In FH4 the Forzathon events were every hour on the hour, and everyone got a notification that it was about to start, and you would usually get quite a few people showing up for them. Now they have like 2 or 3 events at a time going on every 5 minutes and nobody bothers to take part because they know that probably no-one else will show up for the same event that they want to do.

Same here. Was basically my target on Saturday. Unfortunately haven’t been able to play since and won’t be able to play tonight. Not sure when the season ends but I probably won’t get the other car for the season.

I think three more days. I also won’t be able to play tonight, or on Wednesday… Maybe I should take Thursday off the get the DeLorean.

Then I can go back in time to get the Aston.
