Played this, and I am in, definitely needs some polish but damn this is going to be crazy fun on release. Very much recommend everyone try the demo.

Anyone have a recommendation of one of these games on sale for steam deck? Something reasonably chill?

Reasonably chill on a halloween sale, you say?

Don’t have a deck (or similar), so I’m out on a limb here, but I’d guess that Outer Wilds would suit the deck well. It’s a humorous space exploration puzzle game with a Grounhog Day element to make the gameplay even more interesting.

Haven’t played on a Deck but a Switch, which is similar in usability. I found the handheld was great for indie titles, and especially games like platformers and rouge-likes.

My recommendations from the Steam Scream sale:

  • Lost Ruins
  • Darkest Dungeon
  • Hollow Knight
  • Nine Sols
  • Little Nightmares
  • Dredge
  • Signalis

*I have not checked if these are all Deck-compatible, and those in bold I would highly recommend. Of course this is also based on my own preferences and yours may differ. I AM NOT A HORROR GAME FAN!

Yeah, you’re going to have to define “chill” in terms of a Halloween game sale…. From the screen grab though, I’d second @Avatar’s suggestion of Outer Wilds, and maybe throw Subnautica into the bag as well. Haven’t looked at other games on sale, but reckon @Beo has a decent selection in his list.

Curious to know if you do end up getting anything, how many of these titles are/arent Steamdeck ready.

For some reason it slipped my mind that Subnautica has some legitimately pants filling parts, not to mention has a bunch of claustrophobia triggers. Might be the right level of chill!

For those that aren’t aware, you can check https://protondb.com for compatibility. Each game will have an All category, or you can filter down to SteamDeck or Linux Desktop.
