The Switch version just got a patch that enables importing saves from GOG and Steam. And it’s on sale. Why must they tempt me so?!
This would be great to sit and play at work.

I probably shouldn’t have done it, but I pulled the trigger and got myself Switcher. Hopefully my saves will not cause problems because of the mods I’ve used. They do say on patch notes modded saves “might” have issues. Luckily I’m very close to the end so if I do get problems with my save I will finish it on PC and then find a save game where the base game is complete online so I can start with expansions on Switch.
Hopefully this won’t be considered cheating the GameClub? I’d still be finishing everything myself, just using someone else’s save so I don’t have to start from scratch on the Switch since that’s the whole reasoning behind me buying it. (This will obviously only apply if my saves have problems on Switch).
It just occured to me that I while I own the game on 4 different platforms (PS4, Steam, GOG and now Switch) I have only bought it twice. I bought the CE on PS4 and now the complete edition on Switch. The GOG version I got for free and the Steam version @1nF4m0u5 bought for me.
EDIT: Might not have to use someone else’s saves if mine don’t work. I remembered you can start the expansions without having to have played the base game (obviously it will be a bit kak without gear and what not) so I can finish on PC and then play expansions on Switch.
Managed to download my save from the cloud but I can’t seem to upload it back again. Getting the save on the switch was the most important thing for me though as I’ll be playing it at work mostly from now on.
I’m quite impressed by how the game looks and runs on Switch. Obviously it can’t compare to other platforms but for what it is, it is great.
Finished one Blood and Wine quest the other day.
The one with the cursed lady and all those spoons. I made sure to reload the game to try all 3 different options at the end of the quest. I burst out laughing every time Geralt took a spoonful of the crap she made. You could see the mix of willingness to help, and absolute disgust with each gulp. I think that may be my new favorite Witcher 3 quest now.
That quest is awesome and the way Geralt is uneasy in everyway is funny as hell
I was gonna rush the last few main quests so I can get started with the expansions as soon as possible, but now that I’m playing on Switch I think I’m going to take my time and finish all contracts and treasure hunts (even though I’m not using Witcher gear). I’m probably not gonna finish the normal side quests though, but we’ll see.
I’m really happy with how the game runs on Switch. In docked mode it looks like a last gen game, but in handheld mode it is super impressive and I really like the touch screen controls, especially for navigating the map and menus and during conversations.
EDIT: Found a workaround for getting my saves back on Steam. The Steam upload on the Switch doesn’t wanna work but the GoG one does. So I upload to GoG cloud then download it using GoG galaxy and just copy the file to the directory in my documents for Steam to load it. Thankfully I own all three versions.
Finished the base game.
Time for Hearts of Stone.
Man, Gaunter O’Dimm is one of the coolest characters ever.
He is interesting right.
Meanwhile I’m getting royally pissed off at the console ‘hotbar’ mechanics. No. I don’t have 1-2 seconds to hold the D-Pad to swap hotbar slots while I’m getting my ass handed to me by the final boss in Blood and Wine.
You know what would be freaking mindblowing is if he is there in cyberpunk.
Super interesting. Every time I play the game I look forward to encountering him again. It’s so cool that when you meet him right at the start of the game he seems like nobody but turns out to be evil incarnate later on.
I prefer helping Olgierd but Gaunter’s rewards are so much better and some of them are very helpful in NG+.
When I first saw him I though he is someone like Q(star trek) since he had the manners of a Q so glad how it was implemented later on. Since we still don’t know really really who he is only speculations.
One of the writers of the game did say outright who he is based on: the main character from a Stephen King book, Needful Things.
It’s pretty obvious that he is the devil, or equivalent, in this universe though.
Oh shit! I completely forgot! I finished Witcher (while back now) and apparently got the good ending
just the DLC waiting to be played now. taking a short break before jumping back in
So my last save game was Feb 20th. One week later, here I am fighting the same boss… Blood(and wine)y hell that fight pissed me off. Damn 1 hits.
Last night, I decided to check the game options to see if I could turn off the auto-camera movement. Thank goodness the option was there. I had MUCH less problems. Still didn’t finish the fight last night, but, I did finish it over lunch today.
Figure it is just story from here on out (most likely) so I’ll probably be done DLC #2 before the weekend.
I’m so glad that’s over!
Finally finished it. I think I will carry on with the DLC’s as well.
What an awesome game. Easily one of the best I have ever played
Oh ya, Blood and Wine done and dusted the other night! Woot!
At the ending, my house dude guy said someone forced their way in. I kept repeating “Come on, Yenn. Yenn… Come on…”
I’m about to start playing at work since it’s really quiet this time of the week. If all goes well I’ll finish Hearts of Stone during this shift.
How far are you into it Wlad?
