Gaming documentary YouTube channels

I’ve been getting more and more into gaming YouTube channels that are more than just the average gameplay and shouting into a microphone. Channels that do research into the history of games, or how games are made, or just tell a great, well-produced story of games. I’ve found 5 channels that I want to share with all of you that you need to watch if you’re interested in the same thing:

Gaming Historian

This channel focuses on telling the history of many iconic games, showcasing its development, conception and aftermath

GVMERS

GVMERS has a fantastic series called The Rise And Fall, where they look in-depth at certain game series and their rise and the reason for their fall. It’s filled with nostalgia!

NoClip

No list like this would be complete without NoClip. They are possibly the best source of gaming documentaries on YouTube

Mark Brown

Mark Brown’s videos are excellent. He focuses on the design elements of games, talking in depth at the mechanics and elements that make games great or not.

This sounds awesome. I’m going to subscribe to them all. I’ll unsub again if they start annoying me for some reason.

There’s also The Game Theorists:

I remember watching a video that covered the history of the Battlefield franchise that I really enjoyed. The video below is not the same as I watched back then but rather a more up-to-date one.

Such good memories seeing the older Battlefield games:
