Gaming news you may have missed: 1 January to 7 January

It’s a new year, and it’s time to get back into staying informed and up to date on the latest happenings in the gaming industry. Obviously, the biggest news was the huge vulnerability found in Intel CPU’s and the performance hit that the patch will have on gaming, but there were other news stories of the past week you may have missed. While one of the year’s first big titles will come to consoles this month, PC players are eagerly waiting for news on when they will get to play Monster Hunter. Well, good news is that it is being optimized and is planned for launch in our Spring time.

Overwatch has a very big and passionate fanbase, one that likes to dabble in making custom maps. One such map has caught the eye of Blizzard, and we may see it being included in the game sometime this year

[RUMOUR] Burnout Paradise HD Remaster coming to PS4 on March 16 in Japan

This is the second leak of a possible Burnout Paradise HD Remaster that floated around the internet over the festive period. It seems all the more likely the more we hear from these leakers.

Steam reaches 18 million concurrent users for the first time, along with 7 million users currently in-game

That’s a whole lot of people playing games on PC, and while services like Xbox Live and PSN may be bigger in total users, we’ve not seen concurrent stats for these platforms in a while. It’s safe to say that the PC gaming market is still alive and kicking.

HTC to reveal presumably the new Vive on the 8th
