Yeah I’m not really bothered by it, but I do get both sides kind of. It is definitely lame of the dev to change it now though. They were apparently warned beforehand that (Chinese) people will not be happy with the portrayal of historic characters or something like that. I’m speaking under correction but originally (some of) the bosses you kill were historical figures that were considered “the good guys” and you are fighting on the wrong side. So now those bosses don’t die anymore and just hang around in the boss arena after the fight or run away. It doesn’t impact the gameplay as far as I know but it kind of ruins the OG narrative.
They should have changed it before the game released and then people in the west would have been oblivious to all of this nonsense.

Nice! I used to love the Shinobi series back in the old Genesis/Mega Drive days
