Global Citizen Live 2021

After a year of silence (#ThanksCorona) the annual Global Citizen Live Festival makes a return for the 9th time this weekend. The 24-hour Global Citizen Live series of concerts on Sept. 25 will feature a star-studded line-up of acts performing in COVID-safe shows spanning six continents.

The initial roster for the main New York event will feature Coldplay, Billie Eilish, Camila Cabello, Jennifer Lopez, Lizzo, Meek Mill, Shawn Mendes, Alessia Cara, Burna Boy, Cyndi Lauper, Jon Batiste and Lang Lang.

Femi Kuti, Davido, Tiwa Savage and Made Kuti will perform in Lagos, Nigeria and Ed Sheeran, Doja Cat, DJ Snake, H.E.R., Black Eyed Peas, Christine and the Queens and Angélique Kidjo play in Paris.

With additional shows in Rio de Janeiro, London, Seoul, Los Angeles and Sydney, the concerts are slated to raise awareness about issues including climate change, famine and vaccine equity and coincide with the United Nations General Assembly currently underway in New York City.

This 24-hour event is a part of the Global Citizen campaign, a Recovery Plan for the World, which focuses on COVID-19, ending the hunger crisis, resuming learning for all, protecting the planet; and advancing equity for all. Join fellow Global Citizens, historic artists, and leaders from around the world to defend the planet and defeat poverty.

Artists donating their time and talent — live or filmed in advance — include Adam Lambert, Alessia Cara, Alok, Andrea Bocelli, Angélique Kidjo, Billie Eilish, Black Eyed Peas, BTS, Burna Boy, Camila Cabello, Charlie Puth, Christine and the Queens, Criolo, Coldplay, Cyndi Lauper, Davido, Deborra-Lee Furness, Delta Goodrem, Demi Lovato, DJ Snake, Doja Cat, Duran Duran, Ed Sheeran, Elton John, Fatma Said, Femi Kuti, Green Day, H.E.R., Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lopez, Jon Batiste, Keith Urban, Lang Lang, Liniker, Lizzo, Lorde, Made Kuti, Mart’nália, Meek Mill, Metallica, Mosquito, Rag’n’Bone Man, Ricky Martin, Shawn Mendes, Stormzy, The Lumineers, The Weeknd, Tiwa Savage, Tropkillaz, Usher, and more.

Skimmed through it and none of those artists pique my interest or attention so I’ll skip. Thanks.
