Have you ever heard a song ingame and then looked up the band only to listen to all of their stuff?
In Alan Wake I heard a song during a battle sequence, I looked it up and the song was Club foot and the band was Kasabian.

Hmmm no, not that I can think of. But then my kind of music aren’t generally used in games.
Can’t remember discovering a specific band through a game, but I have definitely discovered artists by playing games. Hotline Miami made me aware of Perturbator, for example.
While I did know of the band beforehand, DmC did make me actually listen to Combichrist actively.
Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2. Rage against the Machine, Bad Religion, Papa Roach, Millencolin and Lagwagon. Changed my life.
All time best game soundtrack.
without a doubt.
I don’t think I’ve ever had a game help me discover music but i did discover a band called FlyLeaf from a scene in Die Hard 4
Hells yeah
X Games Proboarder - NoFx
NFS Underground (2?)- Rise Against and Bullet for my Valentine
Ooh, that song from borderlands intro… “Aint no Rest for the Wicked” by Cage the Elephant
the undeground and most wanted games from nfs had a few good songs from bands that i started to listen after playing those games but Forza motorsport 2 and project gotham 4 had the biggest influence when it came to music that i listen to, i still think forza Motorsport 2 have one of the best soundtracks in a game ever, the only memorable music from what i would call a recent game (yes its 6 years old) would be the original forza horizon it has an amazing soundtrack.
Great band!
Trailers and movies sometimes do, but with games I’ve only been introduced to a band once, if memory serves: The Tea Party.
That’s thanks to composer Stuart Chatwood, who did the music for the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time series games. When I looked him up, I found out he had a band that plays rock band with Middle Eastern influences.
I’ll see if I can find a good video of theirs…
Update: Here’s one that’s OK.
And here’s another cool one:
And here’s an example of one of their slower ones:
Yup, Burnout Paradise:
I had a couple…
That’s quite cool. So I take it you enjoy Orphaned Land and Myrath as well?
I remember these videos. Never was a fan though…
