Sheesh I just got flashbacks to the Twin Warriors boss fight from Prince of Persia. Died a billion times and had to watch that little cutscene every damn time.

It was peaceful even if it was eventful. There was a big fire raging through the bushveld. It made for some amazing views but then it came a whole lot closer. The resort assured us that we’d be fine and wouldn’t have to evacuate. We saw a tractor go off with a tank of water in the evening. When we went to sleep the fire was far away, at 23:00 my wife woke me up to look outside, it was like Armageddon, with clouds of smoke lit up orange by the flames. Right on the edge of the campsite there were guys controlling the fire. I was surprised at how quickly it had moved. We found out later that they had actually set alight the nearby veld to do a controlled burn before the fire could reach us.
