Kyalami 9HR 2023

After a year’s break last year, the Kyalami 9HR IGTC endurance race is back, in a new February time slot. For those not lucky enough to attend the event in person, there is good news! All the racing will be viewable on YouTube on the GT World channel:

This year will mark the first time the new BMW M4 GT3 will be racing at Kyalami and South African Sheldon van der Linde will be hoping to repeat his 2020 victory:

Sadly it looks like the field is going to be small again:

The 13-car entry for the Kyalami 9 Hour is the same number of cars that were entered at the event last year, which served as the rescheduled 2021 IGTC season finale. Ironically, it also included eight international entries, which SRO Motorsports Group founder and CEO Stephane Ratel told Sportscar365 was the minimum in order for this year’s event to go ahead.

Full season teams have had to split its equipment between the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour and Kyalami, due to the short three-week period between races.

There were 26 entries for the Bathurst 12 hour.
