It feels like an after thought more than anything else. What bugged me was the bland story line. It really didnt pull me in like all the others and the books did.
Sure, it isn’t a bad game… just a bad Mass Effect game.
One of my biggest problems was their move to Frostbite which essentially makes this game “Dragon Age in space”. While I like Dragon Age, if I wanted to play Dragon Age, I’d be playing Dragon Age. So as a result, the game is very drawn out and the game is much longer than the other ME games, but due to side missions to keep you busy. I for one, liked the story though. It wasn’t as good as Sheppard’s story, but I still liked it.
I do remember telling myself back when I played it that I shouldn’t play this again, but yet I’m tempted to give it another go. Maybe cause I haven’t played anything “spacey” in a while.
I bought it on PS4 not too long ago. My initial reaction was that it was much better than everyone made it out to be. So good, in fact, that some of the set-pieces did leave me in awe for a short while before moving on with the game. I’ve barely finished the prologue part and really want to get back to it, but you have to dedicate hours at a time to be fully engaged with the game’s universe. I cannot commit to that right now, hence my quickie affair with Destiny 2 right now where I can play for 20-30 minutes each night and still feel I achieved something.
My opinion is to get it if you want some space opera in your life. Ignore the haters and get exploring!
*Dragon Age Inquisition in space is a little more accurate. Dragon Age Origins is still the best in the series and I’m really sad they moved away from that type of game design.
Totally agree. Sadly DAO was the last game made by the original BioWare before EA’s influence.
As to the question of the thread. Andromeda is a decent game, its just not special. If it wasn’t part of the ME series people wouldn’t have noticed. Lets put it this way good for a one play through but I won’t be playing it more then once.
I’ll pitch in as a massive ME fan as well. Same story. Pretty good game, worth what they charge for it on sale. Just doesn’t live up to the original trilogy.
I thoroughly enjoyed the multiplayer when it came out, but lost interest when they flooded the loot pool and stopped making maps way too early on.
I’m the opposite, i like the fact that it’s not the entire freaking universe resting on my shoulders, I just take my time and colonize some planets
