Ya, I wasn’t referring to minecraft in that message. Mostly IT stuff. I mean, at least put the notepad crap in the description so I can copy/pasta, and don’t have to seek back and forth in the video and keep having to move ahead and back to find the bit I was looking for. GAH!
With minecraft videos, I more get cheesed off with people doing bad cuts in their build videos so you have no idea where they are putting a redstone torch or whatnot…
URGH!!! So, hypothetically, if I was THINKING about installing and joining you guys, how would I go about that. Like what is the IP of the server and should I just keep running Java edition…BUT ONLY HYPOTHETICALLY…
Also that is EXACTLY what happened to me! and now I have a mud hut, with some crops and fences up so I can figure out how to lure animals into the pens
YOU’RE LYING!!! I didn’t just test out Minecraft during working hours while my daughter is sleeping to see if the bug bites. I definitely did not just download the Java version to try out the mods discussed above, and I CERTAINLY did not just log in and see that all is working…
BTW, I have started putting in the rules on our discord server in #minecraft-rules. There’s also a #minecraft-chat channel that can be used. Please let me know if you have anything you think would be a good addition to the rules. I will also write up some of the commands in the rules channel, like /sethome and all that jazz, so you won’t have to scroll through all the comments in this thread topic.
Also a bit of an update, I found out why Wyvern got a bunch of tools when she joined. I had changed permissions plugins, and then all of a sudden one of the default ‘kits’ became available. I have disabled that so any new players should start with an empty inventory.
We also need to work together to make spawn look nicer. Maybe we should do a planned event for that. I will supply any materials with my OP privs to be used at spawn, and only at spawn.
I was going to ask you to confirm if you did or did not receive the tools ‘kit’ mentioned above to see if my config change worked, but with the way we’re chatting here, I think I’d misunderstand your answer anyways
Okay I’ll be clearer and drop the act. Yes, I installed Minecraft and tried out the server to see if all is working. I started in the server with an empty inventory so you’re good to go.
But I also discovered why i stopped playing Minecraft a while ago. I get a fatal crash when playing about 5 minutes of Minecraft, regardless of settings, and my whole PC just freezes. Seems like it is still happening. Not sure why.
Which version of java are you running? I think the latest version of minecraft needs Java 17… You should be able to install multiple copies, you’d just need to set the JVM arguments in the launcher iirc
Not really. I mean, we might need it for voice chat during the ender dragon fight, or other events. The #minecraft-chat is planned to have integration to the in-game chat, so that’s not necessary really either. As far as the rules channel goes, I doubt you’ll need to check them frequently
