Nvidia has announced that 32bit driver support will cease during this month, there has been a relative decline in 32bit support over the past few years, ranging from games to apple dropping 32 bit support on ios.
So, for the layman like me, what would this mean for older games that aren’t 64 bit? Would graphic drivers not be backwards compatible and not work and you need to keep old 32 bit drivers, or am I not understanding the problem?
64 bit drivers contain legacy support eg new dx12 cards can play dx7 games from 1998 etc so 32 bit games on a 64 bit os wont be affected.
they just wont make new drivers for 32bit operating systems, however if you have a 32bit os with a dx12 driver it wont mean it wont support new games that come out in the future, Nvidia just wont released 32 bit optimized drivers for the games (like they do now).
