I was in two minds about whether to say it…
Because all I have to say is that I have no idea what’s going on. I wrote that painful farewell, and had to include the deadline and everything, and then just… nothing.

I cried each night for weeks in bed! Had to make up some excuse to my wife like my Grandma died, just so that I do not seem weird. Now I have to explain to her my Gran is still alive (it is her Bday this weekend) AND that the forum I have been crying over is also still alive! WTF guys

It was an elaborate plot to get rid of us all and start over from scratch. Kinda like Noah and the flood, just not as wet and with less damage to the infrastructure.

Mass Effect: Andromeda | My thoughts so far …
- Choosing a class, but not restricted to the powers, great
- Gun play, about as good as any other Mass Effect
- Battle mechanics (i.e jumpjets, dodge), a welcome addtiion
- Voice acting and dialogue, okay, but cheesy
- Graphically the game looks good, but runs like ass initially
- Not being able to enter the Tempest to make minor changes (without having to leave the planet), less than desirable, if just plain annoying and needlessly time-consuming
- Checkpointing and inability to save the game at non-critical points suck(s).
The game takes about 5-10 minutes to exit (not kidding - often left staring at a black screen during this time), minus the additional 10-15 mins I have to wait to use my PC properly again.
Task Manager would inform me the game uses about 75% CPU and just under 6GBs RAM of the 8GBs I have available. I suspect it’s a GPU issue. Mind you, I’m playing it on Medium; no SSAO and no AA. I discovered yesterday, turning off any AO and AA increases my framerate to playable. Loading and stuttering is still in full effect within at least the 1st 15-30 mins of play.
Definitely the most poorly optimised game I’ve played on PC before, taking into account games like:
- Saints Row 2
- Batman: Arkham Knight
- Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
