Trust your little one gets better soon. It’s great that your wife can stay over.

This is, unfortunately, the standard in little ones - less chance of him ripping it out compared to if it’s in his hand or arm.
He’s in hospital, paediatrician looking after him, receiving medication, parents are close by. There isn’t a better place for a sick little man to be. Goodluck!

They’re doing blood cultures to find the root cause, but the results take 5 days. In the meantime they’re treating him with antibiotics and pain meds. He seemed quite happy this afternoon during my shift at the hospital. We also switched formula milk from Similac to Novalac HA and his stomach hasn’t gurgled and cramped up again yet (and I pray it doesn’t). He didn’t cry a single time in his 2 hours awake-time and went back to sleep now without a hitch.

My wife went home to get some sleep and try and pump some breastmilk to feed him, as she hasn’t been able to feed him anything other than formula the past 2 days due to his discomfort and crying. So hopefully everything can calm down a bit this week. I already put in an extra week’s leave to see him through this episode and to make sure he’s safely back home, as I was supposed to start work again on Monday.

Despite all this, I’m super happy with the little man. He’s an absolutely gorgeous baby (everyone comments on it, so it’s not subjective) and generally well mannered, unless there’s something wrong (like hunger, dirty diaper or discomfort). He’s got big blue eyes and it feels like he stares into my soul sometimes.

Hope all is well bud, Mia went back to hospital at just under a month old. The drips are terrible and the helpless feeling is worse.

Don’t sweat the formula thing, both our kids where bought up on formula as my wife could not breast feed.
We ended up on Infacare as the rest gave Zoe and Mia such bad cramps, cost a small fortune trying to find “the one” lol

Hope the little one gets released soon bud

Out of interest, has anybody used PARGO before?
I swear they will ban me if I keep refreshing the page at the rate I am…

Seems like the Novalac HA is doing the trick now. It was difficult to get hold of it though… Had to try 5 stores and pharmacies until I eventually found a tin. It was a small tin and is already half empty, so I’ll have to scout the stores again soon.

The drawing blood feels worse for me… At least he only screams while they draw it and calms down shortly after. Thanks for the well wishes.

I’ve only used them once and it went OK. Had them deliver a package to Cape Union Mart near my house. Took like a day or two before i received the “ready to be collected” email.
