Jirre, got my water consumption down from 25k litres a month to just under 8k , now they want to start penalizing people that use over 6.
What the fck is that going to solve?

yea we also have to reduce our usage - its sad and scary - mainly because i am starting to doubt this whole issue.

We are arguing with the council since they claim we are using 32kl per month - when we have been using grey water for everything. Including washing clothes but the taps run wide in the informal settlements.

Nope we had the whole property and meter checked for faults - the problem lies in the fact that we have no water for 2 - 5 hours every few days due to pipes that burst around our street. It takes them a day to fix a streaming pipe. Which means we have no water. Also tell people when they turn their taps on again to let the air out- keep an eye on the water meter - it runs whilst no water is going thru - it counts the air as usage.
The fun part is flushing the loo only once a day - with shower water - i have my showers now so timed that I only get 1 bucket of water per shower. (i shower into a plastic tub and throw that water into a bucket) Water only goes on as I need to either wet my hair, rince the soap off kinda thing.

I spent most of the holidays with my brother - we checked his water usage in dec worked out to 40L per day - that is two of us using that little water for 3 weeks. . . How the frack are we supposed to go lower?

I didn’t even see how old it was, so perhaps you are right. I still believe our post office will be even slower though, because they really are shit.

I was in and out for my car license in about 30 minutes though, so not too shabby.
