Soyuz launch as seen from the ISS.

Pretty old, but I’ve never seen such a seamless video of the whole process.

I heard Microsoft doesn’t own Nokia anymore. I hope that’s true after reading this headline.

Yeah Microsoft no longer owns them. Been a few years now. Think they are owned by Foxconn

Ain’t got the @murfle skills and tools to think about shooting anything more than the Moon… but tried last night with my zoom lens to capture the bright dot that is Mars alongside the Moon. But it’s just too bright and completely dominates things, leaving Mars a tiny little pinprick of light (hardly noticeable, bottom left). Turned into a decent enough Moon shot though.

That’s an amazing shot! I know what you mean about the moon’s light. Even with that, zoomed in to 100%, I can make out two tones of red on Mars. Well done!

I personally find near full moon shots bland in most scenarios. I prefer getting the moon at less than half, so the shadows on the craters really pop. There will also be less light to drown out the other bodies. You also captured the moon with great detail.

Overall, you should be chuffed. That’s a great shot. I’d recommend trying again in 2 weeks. I haven’t checked, but based on the past month or two, Mars seems to be getting closer to the moon, so I should probably get outside again myself.

What lens did you use?
