  1. Yes, it is in the difficulty settings. You can set it to only show while you change your aim, or have it ommitted permanently.
  2. Not that I know of.

The next tournament will be the ā€œMEW May The Fourth Be With Youā€ 4 day extravaganza at Timber Knoll! This course is rated Easy, where last week’s was rated Easiest. Yes, we are upping the difficulty!

There is still a few hours left for the ā€œMEW Make It A Long Weekend Compā€, but as it stands it looks like @DieGrootHammer has it in the bag… the golf bag. Har har.

Can someone ELI5 ā€œHandicapped Scoringā€ for me please?

Is my +8 handicap added to my score for the round? Can you have a negative handicap that will then reduce your score? Does it affect specific holes in the round - why do I get a Bogey lsited after making a Par 4 in par? What does the Course Handicap (71,6/117) mean? Does a high handicap (+20 for eg) happen because you finish so many rounds at 17-under?

Hey hey! On the podium in my first tournament! I’ll take it

Except that’s only on the PC side of things. Soon as the console players get added to the leaderboard, me…

Can’t see the rest of the difficulty settings below ā€œPro Vision: Lie Penaltyā€.

Strange, and according to your settings that I’ve inputted, my summary shows as Medium difficulty where yours displays as Easy.

The rest should all be default, sorry, thats why I did not scroll down for more screenshots.

Well, I guess we are trying to bring your ego back down to earth with sneaky difficulty settings

Haha

I ran a quick round with those settings in a local match and dang, I managed to break even after 18 holes.

Not sure what’s going on but every hole I am I’m getting a stroke up to my score.

e.g. on a par four I do it in 3 and get par result.

Have I done something wrong?

As you can see I’m on my second stroke but I’ll get par.

That was me last week…

It’s the Handicap Scoring system. Depending on your handicap, it reduces /increases the round par score based on the hardest holes first. Check your score card. Under each of the holes where it will be applied there should be a little plus sign marker indicating that the hole will have handicap scoring applied to it.

So, I have a +8 handicap. Under the handicap scoring system, the par score on the 8 hardest holes on the course is reduced by one each: Par 5 becomes Par 4, Par 4 becomes a Par 3.

I was wondering what those dots were, and why sometimes it scored me up and others it was true representation.

Thanks for the clarification, this has messed me up big time.

Same, but probably even worse than you. Just finished the first 9 holes of my first round and am already at +8 :expressionless:

It’s the downside of playing our earlier rounds on Amateur settings and getting all those ridiculous -10 and -15 under par scores. The game thinks we’re super excellent alien level players and gives us positive handicaps. Mine is at +10, which means I have to score a 62 on a par 72 to break even. It’s not as kak as it is for @Oltman and @DieGrootHammer - I think both of their handicaps are in the +20 range…

Oops, I am yet to play the rounds so wondering how many penalties this will give me!

Urgh… I could kick myself. I set up the event with the end date being the 8th, thinking that was Sunday. So when I loaded up today to do my rounds I was met with sadness, my old friend.

@oltman has there been no more challenges to this series?
