Ah bro, we had to do this with a previous dog we had. We had her for 19 years, so it was snot and tranne for us.

So initially it was my mothers cat. Ended up disappearing for a year. Mom got 2 other cats and the dude she was dating found Shadow again. Didn’t have space for Shadow so I took him in.
So yeah everyone meet Shadow
And then this little slice of life is Riven. Currently living with Monster(the girlfriend) and finally meeting her in Dec. Mother cat didn’t want her so we took her in

Today has been a sad day. We had to put down our Jack Russel Cross. His back legs stopped working two Thursdays back. The vet diagnosed it as an issue in his back affecting the nerves. We tried anti-inflammatories and rest in the hopes that he would regain movement in his legs but they remained limp. He started to cope, able to balance and pull himself around. He also started eating and drinking again and we thought that maybe he’d be able to adjust to life without the use of his back legs. In the last day or so he started to show signs of deterioration rather than improvement, whatever had caused the back issue must have affected other internal organs and his body started shutting down. It was tough taking him to the vet this morning, and this afternoon having to tell the kids.

I’m so so sorry bud. It never gets easier, but take comfort in the fact that you gave him a great home and cared enough for him to look after his health, to the end.
