I have a dream of one day having a full racing sim rig, but I would like to start getting costs etc.
I really like the look of the f1 inspired wheel (name just left me) but the price tag sacres me.
My second issue is until I can convince my wife the rig looks good in the lounge, how else can you mount the wheel and be comfortable?
Are their budget line wheels that do really well or is it about splurging dosh?
It will have to work on an xbone and specifically f1 games.
I’m looking at this for a starter wheel http://xboxracingpro.com/hori-racing-wheel-one-xbox-one-review/
I would say the lack of force feedback is a dealbreaker for that linked wheel.

Thats true, would you rather save up and get a proper wheel?

If I was in the market for a wheel, I would get a Logitech G920 on a deal for around R3500. It has a manual shifter add on for a bit extra as well.

I’ll look at it now. My current budget is R1500 so I’ll do some saving.

Imagine. no kids…still have man cave and you’d have enough cash for 2 wheels. one for both of you.

I’ve been on their site today and those are what I will save for.
I find on a controller I’m 100% or nothing when steering
Yeah it takes practice to get the feathering of both the throttle or the break. I’ve been slowly getting better at it, but nothing comes close to using a proper wheel.
My Subaru is automatic and I’m driving home using left foot brake to get used to it. My wife hates it
You are somewhat brave. Last time I tried left foot braking was accidently when driving my car off the showroom floor. Oops.
it’s just getting the fine motor control to work. I live in the Drakensberg so the roads are usually empty
I’ve just bought a headset and paid school fees in advance so I’m going to start saving towards the R4k mark.
Whilst saving lots of Thrustmaster and Logitech reviews will be read,
I am leaning towards Thrustmaster purely to get their f1 add on wheel.
Last night I saw some cool blueprints to build a racing sim.
My mind went into over drive as I love long term projects.
In a nutshell I want to build a “case” to hold a racing chair that either reclines for single seater racing and comes back up for rally. That might require two seats.
Must be able to take a camelbak bladder for long sessions.
Judging on how fast kids eat moola this might be a 3yr project hahah
