I hate Mr X. That is all.
I finished my first playthrough (Claire, Normal) and am currently playing Leon on Hardcore difficulty. I truly did not expect to like this game so much! It’s a wonderful mix of tense survival elements, where you can die easily and where every item counts, great atmosphere and a fairly intriguing story.
In hardcore mode, you have limited saves, so you really have to think about how much you can do before starting to worry that you might lose too much progress. Ammo becomes so scarce that I found myself avoiding fights where possible. It almost becomes a puzzle/resource management game, where I would set mini goals to accomplish before daring to use an ink ribbon.
I didn’t know I wanted this game so badly but everything old is new again and Capcom really managed to reverently remake a classic.
