Staple Games/Programs On Your System

I’ve wanted to create this I think since MyG.

What are the programs (or games) that you always have on your system, maybe it’s essential for you to have them, irrespective how often you change systems or have to do formats and re-installations.

*I say system, as users could use Macs, so I don’t assume

Platform(s):

  • Steam
  • Uplay

Utility:

  • MSI Afterburner - System monitoring
  • Networx - Data monitoring
  • Avast! Antivirus - Self-explanatory
  • Firefox (Quantum) - Browsing

Entertainment:

  • VLC Media Player - Video
  • Foobar2000 - Music

Games:

  • Grand Theft Auto V/Online (This is what got me to thinking about making this topic)
  • Something multiplayer

The one game i have had on my hdd since my very first pc, which has never been removed and never will be, is: Warcraft 3 TFT

Entertainment:

Steam
Galaxy
MPC (Media Player Classic )
VLC but don’t like the washed out look of videos so its only for those that can’t be played by mpc.
Foobar2000 - Music

Utility

Faststone Image viewer
Thunderbird
Firefox
7-Zip
Malwarebytes
Tera Copy

Steam
VLC
Spotify (as of late)

If/when windows:
Putty
Origin
Notepad++

Wine
Gimp
RawTherapee/Lightroom (depending on O/S)
VirtualBox
7zip

A lot of what I use is portable or online, so I don’t really install much. The bit that I do:

Avast
Media Player Classic
Chrome
Plex
iSpy Connect
Google Drive Backup (Whatever they calling it these days)
Teamviewer
Photoshop
Lightroom

Anything else I can find or need from Ninite. (best site ever)

I just realize how little time and focus I actually spend to my PC. At the moment I can only think of a handful of programs that I have to have, and those are:

Steam
Chrome
Teamviewer
Discord

And that’s it. I don’t use my PC for anything else.

I only know vlc :stuck_out_tongue: I will try it out.

I like potplayer but still have kmplayer as my default. Too lazy to fiddle with program settings.

Dude @Entity, can you recommend any easy to use programs that I can just play with light balance for photos on my pc. I would use lightroom but its too expensive. Something very easy to use tho - I are noob

The quickest and easiest suggestion I can give you is Lightroom on your phone. It’s free and just as powerful as the desktop version, it just can’t do RAW files without a subscription as far as I know.

There a few other desktop softwares out there but I think this might be the easiest for now.

Let me know if you need some help with anything.
