Use a spare phone as a webcam? I’m using my old phones for work calls. I like to flex on work colleagues, with my send resolution :joy:

I think it’s time I had a talking to mid-life kelvin, about how fresh out of varsity kelvin had his shit together, and maybe I fix my digital backup and dig up my reinstall scripts from 20 years ago

No idea about that specific camera, sorry. But, as has been suggested, if it’s going to be an infrequent thing, and you don’t want to spend too much, have a look at using an existing phone as a webcam instead.

Check out DroidCam - works for iOS and Android devices, easy to setup, runs well on Windows machines, and has free versions so that you can make sure it works for you before spending anything.

Install the App on your phone, download and install the PC Client on your machine, make sure both are on the same network and it should work easily enough.

(There are other tools that give you the same functionality, but I’ve only ever used DroidCam personally. @Aldyr, are you using a phone/PC system like this too? Or are you using the meeting apps directly on your phone?)

I’ve used these in the past and they’re great. I’m pretty sure it has a built in MIC too.

DroidCam works for linux too. Only paid version (DroidCamX) gives you HD resolution.

iVCam works on IOS, Android and Windows, no linux support. If you’re willing to pay, you get better alles features and performance, than droidcam.

There are also a myriad of cellphone holders/tripods. But if you don’t want to spend, there’s always the very expensive presstick

Nothing wrong with a good hearty reinstall.

That’s already way too many items. My format and reinstall process these day goes Windows → Chrome → antivirus → steam, and then I’m done. I only install things as I actually find I need them… I started doing this when I one time I started reinstalling Sumatra pdf viewer and realised I’ve been using Chrome for PDFs for like two years.

As long you don’t have bitlock encryption enabled you can connect the drive and boot as per normal. Windows will update the drivers for you. No issues should be had at all other than you will have to activate windows again as the system id will very likely change.

Camera should be fine for your exam. 2mp is low but at 1080p the image should be clear enough for the examiner. Just check their minimum requirements before buying it.

For the price I don’t expect there be any issues honestly.

I will try it with the same hard drives, if it works :+1: I did only buy a new CPU and motherboard. Need to use the same memory and PSU and casing.

That is perfectly fine  new cpu and mobo will reset the sys id and windows will need to re-activate. You may need a new key unfortunately, if you have a win7 key you can try that.

What!? Agh, then I’ll rather use new drives and reinstall. Else I’ll eventually need 2 keys

Drives wont affect it luckily  Try with the drive as is and see. Once activated on the new hardware it will stay that way regardless of drives you use.

How did you manage to do efiling?

There was a workaround, but I can’t remember what it was. But later on I just filled in all the docs on my desktop, and then use the Android efiling app to view everything that they generated pdf’s for. This year I had no issue on Chrome with no Adobe installed.

I upgraded from a Z170 to X570. Just had to do a Windows repair and re-activate the OEM key and haven’t had any issues since.

Hey ya’ll, this ain’t particularly technical but I am struggling to figure it out, so here goes:

How do I sign out of my Microsoft account/profile from within Minecraft?

I have tried Google and scoured the net for ages but can’t figure it out or see anywhere in Minecraft to do it. Perhaps I’m just dumb, prove me wrong. Keep in mind this is Minecraft Windows Edition (Xbox One and Android), not the Java Edition if that makes any difference.

easy fix, don’t play Minecraft.

don’t think you would be able to, xbox/micrsoft/skype are all part of the same “account” so you would have to log out of your xbox account in order to use minecraft with another “microsoft account”. That is how it would work on PC if I were to use the microsoft app store, I would have to log out of the app store with my microsoft account, and then sign into it with another account. Take this with a pinch of salt, since I am speaking from a PC perspective and my knowledge of microsoft accounts, I don’t have any experience regarding consoles.

Along the lines of what @TechThief is suggesting, could it be more of an “authorized app” that you’ve given permission to use through your MS account? I don’t know about Minecraft specifically, but there are a heck of a lot of services, many of them game related, that I’ve given permissions to:

Some of them I haven’t accessed in years, and just been too lazy to go and remove from here:
Apps and services you’ve given access (live.com)

If the link doesn’t work… From your signed in Microsoft account go to “Privacy” from the top menu, scroll to the bottom of the page to the “More Privacy Settings” and then the “Apps and Services” option. If Minecraft is in the list, hit “Edit” and then “Remove Permissions”.

Then when you next run Minecraft, it should prompt you to sign in with a valid MS account again, and you can sign in with a different account.

Thanks, that has helped but not for Minecraft, I have removed some priveledges for other services though :stuck_out_tongue:

I will keep scouring around and see what I can find.
