grrrrr rant time…

so near end of november i order a baby yoda plushie from raru (first available 6 november 2020). delivery time is like 4-6 weeks. cool its a xmas present maybe it’ll be here before.

its not, thats fine. the “latest shipping date” of 15 jan comes and goes. no word from them. a week later i mail and enquire what might be happening, whats the delay. im told this:

We’re sorry for the delay in getting back to you. We are unfortunately still having some difficulties with internationally sourced items, particularly those from the US. Your order is secured with our supplier and we’ve been receiving shipments from them as regularly as possible…

cool, im a little annoyed i had to contact them to get the response but yea, it happens. now today i get this:

We regret to inform you that Mattel - Star Wars: The Mandalorian - The Child 11-inch Basic Plush (Figure) has unfortunately gone on backorder at the supplier.

They are unable to advise us at this time when they expect to receive the stock, however, we will follow up with the supplier regularly to confirm if the item can be received sooner.

Can someone in the know explain to me why i shouldnt be pissed at the “secured with the supplier” months ago and now its on backorder as if they never had the stock to begin with. Am i misinterpreting the definitions here? Coz i’m pretty pissed off, am I being unreasonable?

If you think you pissed off now, just wait until they tell you it’s a 20 working day turnaround time to process a refund.

I got a friend at Raru and he wouldn’t even support them for their terrible customer service, values and shady practices.

PSA for all those living in City of Joburg. We are now on a 2 hour loadshedding schedule. City Power didn’t bother telling anyone beforehand they just started turning off the power at the new times :rofl: :weary:
