well our caretaker that was retrenched in 2018 filed a case to the CCMA for unfair dismissal. It has been set down for tomorrow…

AS far as I know just have all the paper work and so on ready and you should be good, also try not to get emotional.
These days people are going to the CCMA for the biggest load of crap

and getting info out of our previous managing agent is like pulling teeth…it has now also come to light that they did not record the retrenchment meetings they had with the caretaker so we cannot dispute anything she says…
And finding a labour consultant at such short notice is problematic and hella expensive

Yes my wife has, had an employee take her to the CCMA. It’s not the big bad scary thing everyone makes it out to be.

I have, when I illegally fired my gardener, and like @DarthMol says, it’s not as bad as it’s made out to be. But I agree with @Wyvern, it sounds like you’re in a tough spot. My strategy was to be prepared with all the facts, politely but firmly call out the other party on any bullshit they might throw out as fact, and I got a very fair ruling in the end.

I don’t drink much, so I completely lost track through all the lockdown stages. Are we allowed to buy alcohol on Fridays, at the moment?
