Not quite. There are certain costs that they’re not allowed to cover anymore, but it isn’t “falling away” in that sense. I’d still recommend taking it, especially if you suspect you might need an in-hospital treatment that the medical aid won’t cover in full.

I honestly I doubt that I will need it, but I am getting older, so you never know.
I never had one hence the not sure. SInce it’s time to renew/upgrade medical aid, I figured I would grab that as well now, while I actually can kinda afford it.
My broker gave me this option:
