so my complex has just been quoted R78k to have 2m x 2m section of wall that is crumbling replaced…This includes removal of the electric fence and camera equipment and putting it back and painting of said wall but still it cant be that much honestly…or am i out of whack on what things cost?

i have asked them to requote because the CCTV and fence monitoring equipment is still under contract so they cant touch those things the actual company who we are contracted to have to quote us on that part…

That does seem quite extreme! My wife added an extension to her class at the preschool which included laying foundations, building the walls, building an extension to the roof, plastering and the retiling of the whole classroom so that it all matches and it came in less than that!

Yeah that sounds very expensive. We have great contractors who work in our area for much cheaper than that. We rebuilt like a 50m stretch (or more) of our boundary wall last year and it didn’t cost that much. Also have electric fencing.

I could send you their number? (I’m not sure if they do work in Johannesburg, but it might be worth a shot?)
