Morning people of the palace

Hope you all have a brilliant day.

Had a hectic hockey practice last night. Can’t walk very well this morning, and my asthma took a hit last night, despite the new medication.

I also received some news from my family back home that my sister-in-law’s half brother is being charged with something, and isn’t allowed near my niece and nephews… Child and family services interviewed them and are satisfied they weren’t hurt. I can’t even imagine what my brother is going through. I feel sick.

Wow that’s really bad @murfle. I’m glad that your niece and nephews weren’t hurt but wow that’s a really bad situation.

Morning you sexy fuckers :mechanical_arm:

So my boss wanted to know how long I’m booked off for and the Doc booked me off till 2nd of March. This was her response

‘Jou siekebrief gekry. As jy met n geruste hart vir 2 weke lank by huis Wil wees omdat jy duim geopereer is, Kan ek niks se nie.

Now I don’t know wtf to do

That is really really messed up by your boss. It’s infuriating.

You need time to heal. I’ve been there. I broke my foot and had to get surgery and I had to be in bed for a very long time. People who haven’t been there just don’t know.

You get sick leave for this reason.

That’s messed up, man. You’re on sick leave for a reason - to heal up. Going back compromises the operation, and you might just have to do it all over again.

Ask your boss if they know the CCMA, and then later you can claim it was the pain meds talking.

See the thing is she and my colleague love the fact that I’m there cause they don’t have to do any hard work. I was there numerous times up until like 10 in the night and didn’t complain and it feels as if she’s guilt tripping me cause I’m booked off

How did you injure your thumb in the first place? Did it happen at work?

Happend on new years. I told her last week I’m going for surgery and that they are probably going to book me off and she said of course it’s not a problem. But it looks like one to me

Keeping in mind if you do work and mess your finger up while its not fully healed you can:

  1. Extend the time you will need to heal
  2. Bugger up your thumb forever

Best if luck @1nF4m0u5. You are in a sucky situation.

If I were you I’d tell her that I’m in a lot of pain and that the painkillers make it very difficult to concentrate and that if you don’t rest your thumb then it won’t heal properly and you’ll have problems for the rest of your life. And even though you feel really bad to let the women have to work on their own for these two weeks you have to look after yourself this time because you don’t want to have more problems in the future. Or something like that.

What @Wyvern said. Nerve damage causes neuropathy - that’s permanent (as far as I know) pain caused by the nerves getting weird signals. That’s way worse than pissing off your boss for a little while.

It’s actually really inconsiderate as well, just in terms of the wellbeing of your colleagues, to treat someone like they’re treating you, @1nF4m0u5 .

Since I started working there I’ve planned everything according to the job. Putting my work before me. And now just when I want time to heal this happens.

It’s thanks to people like her at my previous jobs that I didn’t go to docs or hospitals cause the work will pile up. From serious car accidents to getting 2nd degree burns on my hands I still went and worked even when I was booked off

Wel my baas sien dit nie so nie. Sy sien dit as n klein sny op my duim. So sy kan nie verstaan hoekom ek so lank af geboek is nie

Dis haar twee opsies.
