Official. The 2020 Chinese Grand Prix, scheduled for 19 April has been “postponed”.
The request came from the race organisers and “…all parties will take the appropriate amount of time to study the viability of potential alternative dates for the Grand Prix later in the year should the situation improve.”
Personally, I don’t think it’ll happen - the calendar is already chock-a-block full. But if it does, it’ll probably have to be around the time of the fly-away races on that side of the planet. Somewhere between Singapore, Russia and Japan.

Except of course there’s been an almost immediate confirmation that it’s just a “pre-season testing livery” after all that 
Starting to wonder why teams even bother with these “launch” events any more? Don’t show the car. Don’t even think to start the car if you do actually show it. Show a livery that won’t actually be your race season livery, etc., etc. I mean, seriasssleee?!!

Was a terrific calendar indeed, and a great season too. Hockenheimring and Nurburgring, Imola and Monza in the same season. The old A1-Ring in Austria. Hakkinen and Schumacher tussling all the way to the Japanese GP. Schumacher and his Ferrari (with Barrichello) having one of their best years. Schumacher taking 9 wins and podiums in 3 more of the races and eventually winning his 3rd WDC title despite 4 retirements out of 5 races in mid-season. Ferrari had at least one of their drivers on the podium in every race that year.

Is anybody subbed to F1 TV? I want to check the video quality. Is it hi res good quality or is it low res made for phones?
I ask because I would want to use it on my Android TV box 
if that is the case then bye bye DStv!

Did some more research and it seems it tops out 1080p25 which is higher than the DStv decoder broadcast which I think is 720p25 / 720p30.
Many are complaining about the app not pushing higher framerates as it is broadcast in 4k60 in some countries but the official app downgrades it to 25fps. I see their problem though. Most people will not watch this on their TV’s and the amount of technical queries from viewers will be a headache. So they just opted for an auto bitrate platform and limited it’s requirements. BUT this could have been scaled higher.
Anyway, I might try for a month when the first races start.
