Racing Point are ā€œsharingā€ Reserve / Test drivers with Mercedes (and McLaren too I think) for this weird season. Officially itā€™s Stoffel Vandoorne or Esteban Gutierrez. But I think a lot depends on who is available - as in, in the UK and not having to quarantine.

They theoretically could use anyone with a valid F1 license if the FIA approve it, which they would.

And apparently, Esteban GutiĆ©rrez does not have a valid superlicense at the momentā€¦ Reddit caught a tweet saying that the seat is being prepared for Hulkenburg.

Which would mean the Hulk only missed three races.
Which would mean the Hulk could realistically compete for a podium this weekend.

I really hope this is true!

Iā€™ll be honest, Iā€™m not a Hulkenberg fan. He is wildly overrated, was comprehensively beaten by multiple team mates, and itā€™s pretty much a meme at the moment that he hasnā€™t gotten a podium. But then again, heā€™s has more than his chances of getting that podium. The fact that he hasnā€™t gotten one speaks volumes about his lack of skill.

That said, he is better than any other options that Racing Point has at the moment.
