I am soooooooooooooooooo excited
Testing starts at 9. It doesnât look like itâs going to be on DSTV when I checked yesterday but I may be wrong. Itâs definitely on the F1 tv app.
Remember that testing only allows one car per team at a time on track. So this is the schedule of drivers per day.
I know what Iâm doing during my lunch break today
The stream started⌠um and then died again.
Itâs working now.
For those without access to F1TV or who canât watch live, or for when the stream fails, recommend either the Autosport or Motorsport live text streams (theyâre the same feed - choose whichever your ad block handles best ).

For base reference:
- Hamiltonâs pole time at last yearsâ Bahrain GP was 1:27.264
- Verstappenâs race Fastest Lap was 1:32.014.
The F1TV stream is much better than last year. Will try and cast it to the tv tomorrow.
Canât get the casting to work. I can see my tv when I click the cast button but nothing happens. I can cast Youtube videos without any problems.
Strange because I casted my laptop to our MiBox 4 without any issue. It works great and already changed the value proposition of F1 TV for me.
Vettel still behind Leclerc
Nothing on DSTV
Times at Lunch Time, Day 1:
- Mechanical problem for Charles Leclercâs Ferrari brings out the first red flag of F1âs 2021 pre-season tests
- Reborn McLaren-Mercedes combination gets off to encouraging early start with team newcomer Daniel Ricciardo fastest
- Mercedes hampered by gearshift problem for Valtteri Bottas that means he only posts a time in the morning sessionâs final hour, as new floor concept on the W12 is finally revealed
- Re-branded Alpine and Aston Martin teams hit the track for the first time in an official session
- Haas changes the gearbox on rookie Mick Schumacherâs car
I wonder why people still look at times during testing. Nothing in testing is an indication of what the yearâs form will be. Listening to the commentary, Alex Jacques, who is currently the best Formula commentator by a very long shot, categorically stated that times does not matter and we should not read too much into it. Enter Crofty with his infinite wisdom and start speculating on teamâs form based on the current times.
I will test when I get home again. I casted last year from phone and laptop no issues at all.
Agreed that the times are fairly meaningless at this point. I track them purely out of interest to be able to see how drivers compare to each other on the day. Certainly not as any sort of measure of the rest of the season. Croft is a doos, on that we also agree.
Can anyone who has been watching F1TV on the app confirm what you can see please? Anything more than the main single screen broadcast view that I can see on the web? Track map? Live timing? Pit camera? Driver cameras?
No all I can see is sand. I donât like sand. Itâs coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere.
