And absolutely everyone in the paddock has been talking to him since Thursday! Expect more positives before Monza.

Sad now that I realise he won’t be able to reach the nice round 350 Grand Prix starts by the end of the season. If he’s still out for next weekend as well, it’ll be 348. Not that he cares that much I guess :smiley:

Welcome back Zandvoort! That everyone up to P3 got lapped is mad. (Also makes me feel so much better :grinning:) Next year will be very interesting if they manage to achieve the “closer racing” ideals.

  • Max asking his team if Lewis is complaining on the radio, after Lewis started dropping back.
  • Lewis calling Max Noah for splitting the backmarkers…
  • Alonso responding after Ocon said he is so slow.

Also race was kinda boring. Not a whole lot happening except crazy Tyre strategies and Bottas almost taking fastest lap lol.

Bottas confirming what we all already know in the Finnish press:

Bottas - “My departure was kind of consensual. We agreed with Toto Wolff that I would change the team and they would take George.”

Obviously Bottas to Alfa is not something that happened overnight. I’m guessing Alfa haven’t 100% decided on keeping Giovannazi or not, but have known about Kimi retiring for a while now. (He did say he’d made the decision last year already.)

I think Toto “nudged” Alfa into pushing Kimi to make his announcement so that this chain could get going. I have no doubt that Russell to Merc will be formally announced at Monza, probably even before Thursday so that maximum media coverage can be milked by all concerned. Maybe be even Albon to Williams too.

Going to be interesting to see what happens. I worry they going to stunt him because of Hamilton. He’s young and should be allowed to push himself to his full potential, especially in a good team with a good car like Mercedes.

They will likely tell him to back off the first year. which would make sense. Unless he is clearly better than Hamilton. But that remains to be seen.
