Despite that caveat, Wolff made no bones about how impressed he’d been with Russell, who’s been signed to a multi-year deal with Mercedes – and who Wolff was backing to form a strong bond with seven-time champion Hamilton at the team.

Seeing that it’s a multi-year deal and Russell is a fellow Brit of Hamilton, what are the chances of Hamilton wanting to retire in the next few years and having Russell take his place?
So what’s left unknown at the moment? (Besides any shock or surprise changes or last minute retirements later in the year.) Only one I can think of is whether Giovanazzi keeps his Alfa Romeo seat, or if we have an Italian-free grid next year?
With him being the poster boy for this weekend’s #ItalianGP I doubt anything will be announced about his seat - unless it’s to confirm that he’ll stay in it next year.
