Red ahead in FP1, but it’s early in the weekend. FP2 at 8 should give a clearer idea of the true order.
Even so, nice to see the McLarens in the top 10 again.
Oh, and Seb got to play fireman again

Haha us Ferrari fans are always sceptical.
Ferrari and Red Bull still on top in FP2, despite some extreme porpoising from the Ferrari. Strong showing from the two Alpines. Both Maccas still in the the top 10. Toss an Alfa and an AlphaTauri into the mix, and there’s no space for a Merc in the top 10 again… Hamilton, with some upgrades, still 1.5 seconds off the pace.
After his issues in FP1, no running at all for Seb.
And seb got fine for using the scooter on track… I
FP3 done, and look who’s back, Mac is back, back on top…
Much better session for McLaren. Not sure about their race pace, but they could both make Q3 just now. Verstappen struggled to find a good balance in the RBR, as did both of the Mercedes drivers again.
And an absolute nightmare of a weekend so far for Aston Martin. Vettels’ first full race weekend has not been going well, with incidents yesterday and another early crash early on in this one. And then, 5 minutes before the end of Practice, Stroll doubled the challenge for the AM pit crew to get their cars ready for Qualifying by putting his into a wall as well.
You were saying?
Seb FTW!!
And now Albon puts Williams into the running for the “Kakest Weekend Ever” award after the Latifi/Stroll crash.
Yes!! First Ferrari pole in Australia for years! Mega lap by Charles, even with the extreme porpoising issue the Ferrari seems to have developed since Bahrain.
Mistake by Sainz late in his lap leaves him down in P9 and unable to support Leclerc against the race pace ready Red Bull pair. Checo Perez may have a grid drop coming though - under investigation for not slowing enough under yellow flags.
Top job by Lando for a resurgent McLaren. Fernando would have been right in the mix too if he didn’t have an issue with his gears that caused him to collect the wall early in Q3.
Mercs both still barely holding onto be too 5 contenders. Again, race pace may keep them thereabouts, but that’s another bouncy beast on the straights, and some braking issues into some of the corners.
Race start tomorrow morning is at 7:00AM - set your alarms!
Awwwww yiss Ferrari Boi! Le Clerc let’s go! Bit of a lonely race for him, but at least he has some excitement from Max attacking on Safety car restarts and the start.
What a crappy weekend for Sainz though, damn.
Worthy mention for Albon, getting that Williams into the points(with se DNF help but still)
Lastly, Merc is staying relevant due to Red Bulls crappy Reliability. That said, they’re defs getting their pace up.
And at least the Macca’s was a solid run, they looked decent.
Sadly Seb is struggling with the car, no idea how they are gonna get him ready. He looked good during testing so Im finding it odd, unless the new upgrades they made are affecting him.
Albon was my driver of the day - jirre I was worried he wouldn’t stop!
Sainz seems to be very unlucky at the moment.
As for Max, meh, Im happy for Perez and Russell and Charles, they did well.
Watch all the containers with cars in them will get stolen.
I’m so excited for this. Kyalami is an amazing track it will be awesome to see the F1 cars flying around here.
It’s Sprint Race Week!
SPRWE INTEK ?
Changes to the points format for the Sprint Race - top 8 score points from 8 down to 1.
I can dig this… I wonder if he’ll get another after that to first move Schumacher to Alfa, although this might happen next year already, if so, that might be Sainz’s last year.
The F1 circus returns to Europe for the first of this season’s three Sprint Race Weekends. The third running of the Emilia Romagna GP comes back to the iconic Imola circuit, Ferrari’s spiritual home.
With the team 39 points clear of Mercedes, and their drivers first and third in the Championship, all eyes (and a bunch of home team pressure) will be on Ferrari this weekend. Will they be able to maintain their good form since the start of the season? Will there be two red suited drivers on an Imola F1 podium again? And if not, why not!!?
